Award for new building

The City Foundation at the County of Esbjerg, Esbjerg Kommunes Byfond, has awarded ESVAGT’s new premises an award for ‘striking commercial premises in a unique location.

ESVAGT’s new premises on Dokvej has enriched the harbour of Esbjerg with a handsome building.

That is what the City Foundation at the County of Esbjerg think, which is why they have awarded the building with both a prize and a plaque:

”It seems like the building has cast anchor behind the Fanoe Ferry and that the ship is boarded via a gangway,” said the judging panel as it explained its choice of ESVAGT as winner. The panel also commended the “ship’s deck on all levels” and” open facades like a ship’s bridge”, before concluding:

”A very handsome building that interacts with its unique location”.

The award has delighted ESVAGT; especially as the recognition clearly draws reference to ESVAGT’s work at sea:

”The maritime influence on the building is one of the characteristics that has been highly praised,” says Bjarne Poulsen, Chief Financial Officer for ESVAGT:

”We are very pleased with the award and owe the engineers and architects our appreciation for bringing our request for a building with a maritime influence to life within a budget that was not an extravagant one. We have also had good tradesmen that have been dedicated to the job,” he says.
