(VIDEO) Former CLC World timeshare owner "over the moon" with compensation

New car and freedom from out of control CLC World annual fees for Leicestershire couple.
Sold a timeshare membership
Josh and Sian Buckler spent a cool £19,000 to buy a CLC World timeshare membership back in 2017. "We were caught up with the presentation," admits Josh, 42. "It seemed to present good, long term value and guarantee us great quality accommodation."
(Note - At this point the Bucklers were not aware that anyone can stay in the same CLC World properties via Booking.Com without being members. The cost of doing so is around the same as annual fees for a CLC World timeshare.)
No availability
The Bucklers soon found that their CLC World membership did not live up to its expensive promises. "It just didn’t work like we were told," confirms store manager Josh "The availability was shocking. We tried booking but were never able to get anything we wanted at the times we needed. After a while we began thinking: 'This really doesn’t work...'
Mrs Buckler is a teacher and can only travel during school holidays. "We were told this would be no problem. But there was never availability, not even when we tried to book a year in advance."
The Bucklers were dismayed to find that even though CLC World denied them availability during school holidays, there was plenty of availability in the same complexes through regular bookings sites.
ECC to the rescue
Josh and Sian knew they needed help, but were apprehensive when they first contacted European Consumer Claims (ECC).
It didn't take long for them to see that they were in good hands: "Your man Chris put us at ease straight away. After speaking with him we were comfortable enough to go for it. We wanted to be free of the burden, and if we could get any money back too, that would be a real bonus."
Compensation paid
The Buckler's have been awarded and received £19,000 compensation from CLC World. "We are over the moon," beams Josh. "Just so relieved. It is like we are starting a new chapter of life, not having to worry about paying out all that money all the time with the annual fees. It really is, it's like a new lease of life."
New car
The Bucklers are treating themselves with their windfall. "We are going to buy a car. An electric one.
"In fact, when you called me to introduce yourself the other day, I was test driving what is hopefully going to be our new electric Nissan."
Advice to other timeshare owners?
Josh recommends ECC's help to anyone who was sold an expensive timeshare under false pretences.
"Go for it. Seriously!
"ECC made the process easy for us. Your staff were always available to answer questions and talk things through.
"I just want to say thanks to everyone involved, and thank you ECC for the brilliant outcome."
