Active London returns with ambition to help the sector reconnect and reactivate the capital

Active London 2021 returns as a free-to-attend digital event looking to ensure the grassroots physical activity and sport sector rebuilds better, reconnects stronger and reactivates the capital post-pandemic.

Following a hugely successful transition from in-person to online event last year, Active London will once again be supporting the capital with a digital series of inspirational keynotes, engaging panel discussions and interactive workshops.

Active London, the capital's only conference dedicated to grassroots physical activity in London, is live on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 September with tickets available from today (Wednesday 4 August).

Co-chair of the London Recovery Board, Georgia Gould, will be speaking at the event as will Claire Harvey, Paralympian and Global Inclusion Lead at Vodafone.

The Mayor of London’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner Will Norman and the Regional Director of Public Health England London, Professor Kevin Fenton, have also been confirmed to speak.

The quartet will be joined by more than 40 other industry experts exploring how to build a brighter future for London and Londoners through grassroots physical activity and sport.

Also on the Active London agenda for 2021 is active travel, place-based working, young Londoners' mental health, promoting non-traditional spaces, digital behaviour change, and social prescribing.

Events Manager, Rachel Rowe, said:

“We learned so much and experienced many benefits of digital when we decided to move Active London online in 2020, expect this year’s digital conference to be even bigger and better.

“The team at London Sport have been working incredibly hard over recent months to pull together an exciting and thought-provoking agenda which will educate and inform the sector.

“I look forward to welcoming the grassroots physical activity and sport sector to Active London in a few weeks’ time as we continue our efforts to make London the most active city.”
