Press release -

Sitecore ensures Lewis Silkin demonstrates its expertise online to diverse target audience groups

London, UK – 20th September 2012 - Sitecore’s Customer Engagement Platform (CEP) has been implemented by leading digital agency Reading Room for one of the UK’s leading law practices, Lewis Silkin, to ensure its website delivers the highest quality content to engage with a range of target audiences while also translating Lewis Silkin’s expertise, professionalism and reputation for personal service across its digital channels.

Lewis Silkin is ranked as a top 100 UK law firm and listed in the top 20 of the 2012 Sunday Times ‘Best Companies to Work For’. It has 60 partners, over 300 staff and offices in London and Oxford. Its work spans 13 industry sectors with its main specialisms in employment, the creative industries, and real estate and development.

Lewis Silkin’s business is built on strong, long-lasting client relationships and this strength was the vision for its website. The new site needed to communicate with a diverse customer base, showcase the breadth and depth of its expertise and start new, engaging conversations with visitors and potential prospects.

Lewis Silkin worked with Sitecore partner Reading Room on the development of a full digital strategy. This involved the recommendation of Sitecore CEP which includes the latest version of Sitecore’s Content Management System (6.5) and the Sitecore Digital Marketing System.

Using Sitecore CEP, Reading Room was able to create ‘personas’ for the different types of visitors to the Lewis Silkin website, allowing the site to personalise content that is directly relevant to the identified needs of each visitor.

Reading Room also recognised the growing importance of mobile use by business audiences and using Sitecore, designed the site ‘mobile first’ before developing the design for desktop and laptop PCs. This means Sitecore can dynamically repurpose content and layout to suit any device.

The new Lewis Silkin site www.lewissilkin.com showcases the breadth and depth of the business’ expertise. It is now very simple for partners to post and share best practice, thought leadership and knowledge through blogs and other social media channels.

With the site recently live, early results show that visitor numbers, length of visit and return visits are all on an upward trend. Social media activity has also increased dramatically with Lewis Silkin partners and staff now contributing content to the site.

Laust Sondergaard, Chairman, Sitecore UK Ltd, commented:

“We congratulate Reading Room on delivering a fantastic site for Lewis Silkin.  Many organisations need to engage with a range of different target audiences through their digital channels and the challenge is to deliver personalised content which ensures they are listening and responding to each customer’s particular requirements.

Reading Room has used the personalisation capabilities available with Sitecore CEP to great effect. It recognised that visitors want to benefit from the expertise of the partners and this site is an excellent example of making it easy for everyone at Lewis Silkin to contribute content and showcase the talent within the business.

Prioritising mobile first with the design ensures Lewis Silkin will benefit from the growing use of mobile and tablet devices – Sitecore makes it simple to adjust to any new device as they come on the market.”

Mark Grant, Business Development Director, Lewis Silkin, commented:

“Working with Reading Room on our digital strategy has really helped us leapfrog the competition. Our strategy focuses on ‘Contacts, Content and Conversation’ and we’re already seeing the benefits in all of these. Our new website launched in the past two months is already attracting more visitors, longer visitor sessions and we’ve had some great comments from clients and contacts alike. Our integrated approach means we now think ‘digital’ and not just ‘website’. Our lawyers are onboard with our strategy.

Working with Reading Room has been great. They’re helping us deliver our vision,  understand our business and have pulled all the stops out to deliver against very short deadlines.”
