A Week Worth Celebrating ...

National Afternoon Tea Week (10th – 16th August) is fast approaching and it’s definitely worth celebrating in style; whether you have a sweet tooth or you’d rather something a little more savoury, Afternoon Tea is a perfect all-rounder. So next week it is time to stop what you’re doing at some point in the afternoon and treat yourself to a feast washed down with umpteen cups of tea!

A mid-afternoon feast is truly hard to resist and we think it is a great concept - we owe our gratitude to Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford. As it was common to have just breakfast and dinner in those times Anna used to experience a “sinking feeling” in the middle of the day and therefore requested that a pot of tea and some snacks were served to her in her bedroom.

Little did she know that she was starting a long-standing British tradition which we uphold at Stoke Park today in a quintessentially British manner. Come and join us for some amazing hospitality and you can enjoy Afternoon Tea Week surrounded by The Great British Countryside with a glass of Nyetimber English Sparkling Wine.

It will be the epitome of British and an affair filled with all the old favourites – finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam but with a twist of ‘tea’ infused pastries and a selection of the world’s finest teas will be available to compliment your Afternoon Tea.
