YANMAR TURKEY MAKINE A.S., a subsidiary of Yanmar Holdings, has rebranded its e-commerce solutions platform Makinagetir as YTRent. The platform, which was established in 2016, has facilitated over 12,000 rental transactions in Turkey, and aims to expand its services and identity, positioning itself as a comprehensive solution partner in the sector.
Yanmar Group company HIMOINSA has opened its newest factory in Europe, signaling a strategic move in its growth plan. The 5,000 m2 facility will produce lighting towers and battery energy storage and distribution systems (BESS).
With maritime robotics technologies progressing rapidly, since 2017 with the Robotic Boat, an unmanned maritime vessel, Yanmar has been working on the deployment of auto-navigation and automatic docking systems. With fears growing over protracted spread of the novel coronavirus, Yanmar has decided support users by offering its SHIPSWEB online service free of charge, for customers' peace of mind in their vessel’s everyday maintenance.
Yanmar has participated in a field test to demonstrate the use of precision location technology in autonomous agricultural equipment held by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the working group consisting of Thai and Japan organizations. The demonstration southeast of Bangkok, served to draw attention to the labor-saving potential of autonomous technologies in agriculture.
Following successful test operations of Yanmar’s MakinaGetir construction equipment sharing platform in Turkey’s Izmir region in 2018, the company will expand service delivery towards full-scale deployment of an integrated platform throughout Turkey in FY2019.
Yanmar has undertaken development of underlying technologies for robotic boats and auto-docking, technologies that are expected to see service in operations in dangerous waters, maritime surveys, or smart fisheries.
