The combination of wood production and biodiversity conservation at the same sites is sometimes called “The Swedish model”. Lately, the forestry sector has raised concerns on its effectiveness, and has requested evaluation.
Here researchers and practitioners inform on tree retention strategies and research directions in N Europe, USA, Canada and Australia, aiming to put Swedish practice and research into an international perspective.
