In August, Båstad transforms into an international opera center during the Birgit Nilsson Festival. The highlight of the festival is Richard Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman, which will be staged on August 8 at the Tennis Stadium. At the same time, Hotel Skansen is launching several experience packages for visitors who want to combine world-class opera with gastronomy and accommodation by the sea.
On May 16, Båstad becomes the natural gathering place for Sweden’s drinks enthusiasts as the Bjäre Wine & Drinks Festival returns to Hotel Skansen. Some of the country’s most renowned producers, importers and wine personalities comes together to offer an experience where local craftmanship meets international influences.
Few places in Sweden offer such spectacular running as the Bjärehalvön – and every spring, runners from across the country gather to experience it up close. One clear example is the trail race HOKA Torekov–Båstad, where participants run through some of the region’s most dramatic landscapes, finishing on the beach by Hotel Skansen in Båstad.
