Stockholm has been selected as the host city for BIO-Europe 2027, Europe's most important partnering conference in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. The confirmed return, following the successful 2024 event, means that Swedens leading life science ecosystem will once again become the global meeting place for research, investment, innovation, and the deals that drive future medical breakthroughs.
On 1 October, Stockholmsmässan announced a new strategic direction to strengthen its position as the Nordic region’s leading meeting venue and Stockholm as an international meeting city. As a result, public fairs will no longer be organised in-house, and Numera Mässor will acquire the portfolio as the new organiser.
Formex continues to highlight companies and designers who take a responsible, long-term approach to materials and production. Ahead of the fair on January 20–22, 2026, the jury has nominated eight entries that each, in their own creative way, point toward a more circular and resource-efficient future.
DreamHack Stockholm 2025 kicks off this Friday. From 28–30 November, the world’s largest festival for gaming and internet culture takes over the entire Stockholmsmässan venue – a major expansion from last year. With more activities, major esports finals, live shows and the Nordic region’s largest gaming expo, the organisers aim to surpass the 52,000 visitors from 59 countries recorded last year.
With a new CEO and strategic direction, Stockholmsmässan is setting its sights on reinforcing its position as the Nordic region’s foremost venue for congresses and exhibitions – and in doing so, strengthening Stockholm’s role as an important international meeting hub for business and the wider region.
Formex’s spring theme “Celebrate Traditions” transforms the entrance square into an inspiring cake party, where Saša Antić and Niklas Hansen invite visitors to a multisensory experience. Vibrant installations meet playful design and childhood memories.
Stockholm Furniture Fair will not take place in February 2026. Instead, efforts will be directed toward a relaunch in 2027.
Stockholmsmässan is setting its sights on the future with a new strategic direction for its operations. On 1 October, Mats Viker will assume the role of CEO with the mission to strengthen the company’s position and build a long-term sustainable economy.
During Formex, a total of 360 exhibitors from across the Nordic region and beyond participated, and nearly 8,000 visitors gathered over three days to discover trends, do business, and network with the industry.
Nova Felix – Winner of Formex Design Talents Best in Show. The idea was born during the renovation of an 1800s apartment and a search for a ceiling rosette with more personality, this became the starting point for Rebel Rosettes.
When Formex celebrates its 65th anniversary this August, the spotlight will be on patterns, colour, and Swedish design. The exhibition Tapetgallerie, featuring around ten wallpaper producers, along with Tapetlunden, offers visitors a unique experience of 150 metres of wallpaper inspiration – a vibrant tribute to Sweden’s unique tradition of printmaking on paper and textiles.
