GTWC Europe: Sebastian Øgaard unlucky at Nürburgring
The Danish Audi driver never even made it into the car in this weekend’s round of the GT World Challenge Europe before it was all over.
Sebastian Øgaard was unable to continue his streak of top results when the eighth round of the GT World Challenge Europe took place at Germany’s Nürburgring this past weekend. One of the Dane’s teammates, Italian driver Riccardo Cazzaniga, was involved in a collision already on lap five, forcing the team to retire from the remainder of the three-hour race.
“It was really disappointing, to be honest. We had struggled with pace during the preparations and fully expected a tough race, but not to be out after just 10 minutes. It’s pure bad luck and of course not good for the championship, but we have to keep our heads up and focus on the next round,” said Sebastian Øgaard.
The next round of the GT World Challenge Europe – the ninth round of the overall championship – will take place at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain, on September 20–21.
