GTWC: Sebastian Øgaard aiming higher at Magny-Cours
The Danish Audi driver is hoping for more podium results as the seventh round of the GT World Challenge Europe takes place at France’s Magny-Cours this weekend.
With not less than five podium finishes in the 2025 edition of the GT World Challenge Europe, Sebastian Øgaard is among the most successful drivers in this year’s championship. The 21-year-old Audi driver has fought his way to fifth place in the overall Gold Cup standings and third place in the Sprint Cup – and according to the Dane, the climb towards the top is far from over.
As the seventh round of the European GT3 championship unfolds at Magny-Cours this coming weekend, Sebastian Øgaard, teammate Leonardo Moncini and the rest of the Tresor Competition squad are ready to build on their strong season.
“Less than two weeks ago we secured our latest podium at Misano, so it’s really cool to be back in the car again already. It keeps the momentum going, and the whole team is highly motivated to get back into the fight,” said Sebastian Øgaard.
“The goal for the weekend remains unchanged: we’ll push for our first victory, and otherwise focus on collecting as many championship points as possible. We’ve been strong in the sprint weekends, and I hope we can continue the good work.”
“I raced at Magny-Cours last year, where I personally had a good weekend. It’s a great track, but also quite compact and not the easiest place to overtake, which makes qualifying even more important. Fortunately, I feel stronger and stronger in qualifying, and in recent rounds I’ve managed to put some good laps together. That’s why I’m very optimistic and really looking forward to getting started,” Øgaard added.
The seventh round of the GT World Challenge Europe – and the fourth round of the Sprint Cup – takes place on Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3, with races starting at 20:45 and 15:00 respectively. Both races will be streamed live on YouTube.
