Sirly Ylläsjärvi is a young, prize-winning chef, who together with Heidi Seikkula runs the Aurora Estate boutique hotel above the Arctic circle. For Sirly, flavour come first, followed closely by aesthetics: dishes are fuss-free and easy to make also in the home kitchen. Sirly wants to encourage everyone to have a go at creating the recipes also while on holiday in Lapland – tasty food guarantees ultimate pleasure. "I have always had strong knowledge of the tourism industry. I have worked at Hotel Kämp in Helsinki and then again as a counterbalance in safari companies in Lapland. I studied tourism at university and it has always been close to my heart. I have written in the book about Lapland's various activities, 8 seasons and instructions how to dress up when it's -35 outside. We have styled all the pictures together and the shooting days have been super fun! " Heidi Seikkula

The book contains recipes from side to side. There is salmon soup and reindeer tartare, a 91-year-old Elsa Ylläsjärvi rieska recipe and then we even jump into an Italian risotto ball with smoked reindeer inside. Something for every situation, the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one. A book you can immerse yourself in dreaming about.


The book has been published in two languages and has gained super popularity right from the start. I guess someone should mention the word "classic" in the book publishing.

"I think the book is so successful because it has so much emotion. We started the book 2 years ago and then our friend Tommi Hynynen was chosen as the photographer. He was a hugely talented photographer. Tommi shot a lot of TV series and movies. He died unexpectedly a year ago and left a huge gap behind. I had bought a camera from Tommi in the summer on our joint fishing trip and decided to shoot the end of the book with his camera. Every picture has a story and a feeling. Aurora Estate- Revontulten tila muodostuu 3:sta rakennuksesta. 

Päärakennuksemme valmistui joulukuussa 2015, rakennuksessa on 7 huonetta ja 50 paikkainen fine dining ravintola. Ruokamme on suurilta osin lähiruokaa jossa voi havaita eurooppalaisia tuulahduksia.
Pihapiirissämme on myös tunnelmallinen Jussan pirtti joka taipuu niin tilausravintolaksi, kuin kokoustilaksi. Ulkona voit katsoa revontuli jacuzzista tai pulahtaa avantoon.
