Cone or cup?

It’s been said that we have this summers’ warmest days behind us, but plenty of sunny days have been promised to come – and that means ice cream! What’s your favourite ice cream bar in Stockholm? We’ve listed ours.

Grand Café
Our personal favourite is, of course, our own café at the harbour just outside the Grand Hôtel. Delicious Italian ice cream accompanied with all kinds of tasty toppings, best enjoyed at the open-aired café surrounded by flowers, the façade of the hotel and the glittering water between you and the Royal Castle.

Stikki Nikki
We’ve said it before; just entering one of Stikki Nikki’s colourful cafés puts a smile on your face! Stikki Nikki claim they don’t make jokes about ice cream, and we believe them. Their impressive buffet of handmade, ecological gelato are to be found, at Nybrogatan, Gamla Stan, Drottninggatan, Mariatorget and St. Eriksplan.

King Scoopa
Imagine a creamy donut, filled with ice cream in whatever taste you prefer, mixed with crunchy crackers, topped with sauce. This is just one of the various options to choose from at King Scoopa at Hornsgatan 156.

Kungsholmens Glassfabrik
Founded in the 1920’s by venetian Pietro Ciprian, and still going strong, inspired by the Italian flavours and with the entire production made with ecological products. Having a dinner party at home? No problem – you can buy your dessert here.

Snö
At Snö you are in safe hands. This award-winning café is managed by a Swedish Champion when it comes to ice cream, and you can choose among the many and some times surprising taste combinations for a cup to go or bring home as much as you can carry with you. Snö is located at Odengatan 92.

Gelato Scarfo
At Alstensgatan 12 in Bromma, a gelato experience far from anything you’ve had before is awaiting. Is it worth the trip? We say yes. Be prepared to queue up as this place is immensely popular. The founders have learnt their trade at the best Gelato schools in Italy, and are now serving a massive selection of award winning taste combinations based on Italian recipes.
