THE AMAZING STOCKHOLM ARCHIPELAGO

Now when the summer is at our doorstep, we would like to take the opportunity to tell you about our archipelago favorites.

The proximity to the stunning archipelago, full of outstanding nature experiences and beautiful views, is really one of the greatest advantages of Stockholm. The archipelago consists of over 30,000 islands, so there is something for everyone. Find the tranquility on a secluded island and enjoy the calmness and wonderful views or visit one of the picturesque archipelago villages. For the adventurous, there is also a wide range of activities. Relish the tranquility in a kayak or experience the speed aboard a RIB boat. You do not need oceans of time to experience the genuine archipelago feeling - for example Fjäderholmarna is just a short boat ride away. Bring a picnic basket from us at the Grand Hôtel and have a fantastic archipelago experience, even if you only have one afternoon on your hands.

Fjäderholmarna
Fjärderholmarna is often mentionend as the archipelago's closest islands since they are in only 25 minutes from central Stockholm. Here you will find a nice range of restaurants and crafts. The perfect archipelago destination when you are short on time.

Arholma
Arholma is located in the very north of the Stockholm archipelago. The nature is very varying with both cliffs and ancient farmland. One tip is to look for white-tailed eagles, which you have good chances to see here on the northernmost island of Stockholm archipelago.

Nåttarö
Nåttarö is something of a swimming paradise, with its pride Big sand - one of the larger sand beaches. Nåttarö is located in Stockholm's southern archipelago, about half an hour from Nynäshamn. Here you will enjoy beautiful beaches, cliff bathing, forest walks and kayaking.

Vaxholm
Idyllic archipelago town with many well-preserved wooden houses from the turn of the last century painted in the archipelago's typical delicate pastel tones. Vaxholm has numerous charming restaurants, cafes, and shops. Vaxholm is easily reached by boat as well as by bus.

Möja
Möja offers an idyllic and traditional archipelago experience with villages, harbors, fishing, and agriculture. The picturesque island is ideal for beautiful hiking experiences and memorable dining experiences with fresh fish.
