Grand Hôtel wins accolades for prestigious wine cellar

Grand Hôtel’s wine cellar boasts one of the most extensive collection of wines in Europe and has now caught the attention of The World of Fine Wine, an international award-winning magazine, website and app that provides extensive coverage on the world’s best wine cellars. In its recently published guide, Grand Hôtel received a 3 out of 3 star ranking for its wine cellar.

Grand Hôtel merited its three-star ranking for the quality as much as the quantity of its collection. The wine cellar contains priceless rarities such as Château Mouton Rothschild 1874, Champagne Pol Roger Vintage Brut 1914 and Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 1955. Alongside these is a more accessible collection of newer vintages from the best contemporary producers around the world. The wine cellar contains some 18,000 bottles, and 2,200 different wines served at the Cadier Bar, the Veranda restaurant and Mathias Dahlgren’s Michelin-starred restaurants Matsalen and Matbaren. Procurement and storage of the wine is overseen by the Hotel’s head sommelier, Johan Lagergren.
