The Christmas smörgåsbord is here!

We have been serving our very own traditional Christmas smörgåsbord from the start. Indeed, for us, the Christmas smörgåsbord is a custom to be cherished.  Besides ham, the seasonal favourite, the menu includes delicacies such as ribs, sill salad, our very own snaps 1874, beetroot salad, pigs feet, brawn, toffee and other traditional Christmas sweets – all cooked here in our own kitchen.

We serve the Christmas smörgåsbord at the Veranda restaurant and we also offer seatings in the Vinterträdgården in conjunction with our Christmas shows. Furthermore, guests can enjoy our Christmas smörgåsbord on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day too, when we have three seatings: noon, 3:30pm and 7:30pm. Enjoying the Christmas smörgåsbord at the Grand Hôtel with family and friends is a much appreciated tradition for many. Dining at the Grand puts the focus on socializing rather than on several days of preparation in the kitchen. And one doesn’t have to eat the same leftovers in the run up to New Year’s Eve!

At Christmas time, eating a classic Swedish Christmas smörgåsbord is must for many and that’s exactly what we offer our guests. All dishes are prepared with genuine craftsmanship and great finesse. A dish that we are particularly proud of is our Grand sill, which is a favourite among guests, explains Karl Persson, restaurant manager at the Veranda.
