Grand Group acquires remaining Lydmar Hotel assets

Today it became official that Grand Group AB is to acquire the remaining assets of Lydmar Hotel AB. The hotel will continue to operate under its own brand name, Lydmar Hotel.

Already back in summer 2013, the Grand Group AB, owner of the Grand Hôtel, became the principal owner of Lydmar Hotel AB, with the ambition of creating a strong offering that together with the Grand Hôtel would strengthen Blasieholmen as an attractive venue.

“We see the Lydmar Hotel as a strong complement to the Grand Hôtel since the two hotels attract different target groups. That Lydmar has now become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Grand Group and that we are taking over operating responsibility of the hotel is seen as a positive development for both parties. With the two hotels, we can now create an even stronger total offering, making Blasieholmen the go-to destination in Stockholm,” said Pia Djupmark, CEO Grand Group AB and Grand Hôtel.

Maria Maruska has been appointed the new CEO of Lydmar Hotel, from January 1, 2015. Ms. Maruska has extensive experience in the hotel industry from the Grand Hôtel where she as Food & Beverage Manager has been highly successful in managing and developing the hotel’s restaurant, conference and banqueting operations. Pelle Lydmar will continue to be a member of the company board.
