Grand Hôtel Inaugurates Magnificent New Main Entrance

On Friday, April 30, the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm will be reopening its main entrance after extensive renovation. The new main entrance is part of a larger facade project that began back in 2018, harmonizing the hotel’s beautiful interior with its new facade, which conveys the hotel’s rich heritage. Key quality aspects of the new entrance include improved accessibility and greater sustainability.

Guests can look forward to a new main entrance worthy of an international luxury hotel of this calibre. The revolving door has been removed and replaced by a completely new main entrance consisting of a sliding door solution with entry vestibules and large glass sections. The new solution will greatly enhance the flow of guests in and out of the hotel, while also being more climate-smart.

Another striking change is that the flight of stairs up to the lobby has been moved further in, and now includes an integrated elevator solution to improve accessibility. This has opened up more room at ground level, by the steps up to the reception area, creating a more inviting space and integrated first impression.

“We have successively been updating, renovating, and rebuilding large parts of the hotel. All in order to better meet future demands and expectations of the Grand Hôtel as a destination hotel. A few years ago we put a lot of energy into rebuilding our facade, and this is the second part of that project. Now our entrance is in harmony with both our interior and exterior, while being a more sustainable, climate-friendly solution, which naturally feels great. With our new entrance, stepping into the Grand Hôtel will now be an even more welcoming experience,” says Pia Djupmark, CEO, Grand Hôtel.
