Grand Hôtel Stockholm Honored by Michelin Guide – Becomes the Only Hotel in Sweden with Two Keys

Grand Hôtel Stockholm is proud to announce that it has been awarded two Michelin keys, a prestigious distinction recognizing hotels with exceptional guest experiences and service. With this recognition, Grand Hôtel Stockholm becomes one of only four hotels in the Nordics to receive two Michelin keys, and the only hotel in Sweden.

The Michelin Guide Keys are the hotel world’s equivalent of the renowned Michelin stars awarded to the world’s top restaurants. All hotels included in the Michelin Guide meet high standards in design, architecture, service, and exhibit a distinct character of their own. The key distinction is reserved for the most exceptional hotels in the guide and highlights the absolute finest in the hotel category.

Michelin Guide has now presented its first hotel awards for the Nordics, highlighting the region’s most outstanding hotels for the first time. In total, 38 hotels were awarded Michelin keys, 34 receiving one key, while only four hotels received two keys. Grand Hôtel Stockholm is one of these four hotels and, in addition, is the only hotel in Sweden recognized with two Michelin keys.

“It is a tremendous pride for us and our amazing team to be honored with this distinction and awarded two Michelin keys. Providing memorable experiences and first-class service has always been our goal – and this recognition is a testament to our ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards and quality in all we offer. We look forward to continuing to develop and strengthen our position as a leading name in luxury hospitality”, says Pia Djupmark, CEO of Grand Hôtel Stockholm.

When selecting hotels, the Michelin Guide considers five universal criteria: outstanding architecture and interior design, high and consistent service levels, clear personality and character, value relative to price, and a significant contribution to the surrounding environment or location. Hotels awarded a Michelin key represent the very best across all categories. The award can consist of one, two, or three keys, with two keys signaling an especially high level of quality and overall experience, strong personality, and consistently high standards that create a memorable and unique stay.

In addition to Grand Hôtel Stockholm’s success, its sister hotel, Lydmar Hotel, has been awarded its first Michelin key. Lydmar Hotel, like Grand Hôtel, is part of the Grand Group and is now recognized by Michelin for its unique character and high standards. The distinction confirms Lydmar Hotel’s position as one of Sweden’s most appreciated boutique hotels and underlines Grand Group’s strong standing in Swedish hospitality on an international level.
