Grand Hôtel Stockholm Named Best Hotel in Scandinavia – Honored in the 2025 Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards

For three decades, Travel + Leisure has celebrated the finest in travel through its annual World’s Best Awards, based on the firsthand experiences and votes of its readers. The results for 2025 are now in, and Grand Hôtel Stockholm has been voted the Best Hotel in Scandinavia – a distinction that reflects both the hotel’s exceptional quality and its strong appeal among Swedish and international guests alike.

Grand Hôtel Stockholm is proud to announce that it has been named the Best Hotel in Scandinavia in the prestigious 2025 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards. Now in its 30th year, the award is determined by nearly 180,000 well-traveled readers around the globe. Climbing from second place last year, Grand Hôtel Stockholm now claims the top spot in the Scandinavian hotel category – a recognition that highlights the hotel's long-standing tradition of exceptional hospitality.

Pia Djupmark, CEO of Grand Hôtel Stockholm, shares her thoughts on the accolade: “To receive this award from some of the world’s most discerning and well-traveled readers is both an incredible honor and a great inspiration. It is a clear testament to the dedication and professional pride our team brings to their work every day, all year round. We constantly strive to create genuine and memorable experiences for our guests, and it is especially meaningful to see this recognized on an international level.”

The Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards is one of the most respected reader awards in the global travel industry. Since its inception 30 years ago, hundreds of thousands of passionate travelers have contributed their experiences, making the awards a benchmark for excellence in travel and hospitality worldwide. This year, nearly 180,000 travelers participated, casting more than 657,000 votes across 8,700+ destinations, hotels, cities, and other travel providers. The hotel category is rated across five key areas: rooms and facilities, location, service, food, and value. These scores are then combined into an overall ranking.

Grand Hôtel Stockholm’s first-place finish in this year’s awards stands as a clear endorsement of its high standards in quality and hospitality. The recognition further solidifies the hotel’s position as a Scandinavian leader, where elegance, service, and attention to detail have long defined the guest experience.

The full list of winners is now available at travelandleisure.com and in the August issue of Travel + Leisure.
