Technology and media expert Tom Foremski talks #FutureComms

We caught up with former Financial Times journalist Tom Foremski. Tom runs the online publication Silicon Valley Watcher about the intersection between technology and the media.

In 2005, Tom coined the phrase "every company is a media company" and stirred some interesting debate with a blog titled - "Die! Press release! Die! Die! Die!"

Check out what this tech and media expert had to say during our interview:

1. What trends should PR and communication pros look out for?

"500 hundred impressions is better than 5 million."

2. What is an online newsroom to you?

"In today's API world you don't need to develop everything, you can create dashboards that bring in data from different products."

3. What's the importance of the brand newsroom approach?

"Media technology has become more important than ERP and CRM."

4. What's your advice for brands wishing to create relevant content?

"What worked last week does not necessarily work this week. Media thrives on novelty."
