Ødegaard's career began at Aftenposten during a time when the media had to adapt to changes resulting from the financial crisis and technological advancements such as the launch of the iPhone and the internet. Through her role in leading the development of Aftenposten's first in-house developed iPad app in 2011, she demonstrated an ability to unite editorial, technological, and commercial perspectives.

Later, Ødegaard built upon her expertise through positions at Telenor and as the founder and CEO of Whereby, a successful video conferencing startup. Her insights into product development, marketing, and global growth have resulted in significant success and are an asset to Mynewsdesk's board.

Strategic vision and focus on the future

The motivation behind Ødegaard's decision to join Mynewsdesk's board was the chance she saw to leverage her experience to contribute to the company's sustainable growth and success. - Both the media and tech industry are changing rapidly, and the most challenging aspect for any software company today is to keep up with these changes and understand their implications for the business, both now and in the future. Here, I hope to contribute to raising awareness so that the company can identify opportunities and position themselves in a timely manner, she says, adding:

- Mynewsdesk already has a solid foundation as a leading platform for PR and communication. I hope to further strengthen this by exploring the commercialization of technology, globalising the business, and exploring new market segments, she explains.

In her role as a board member, Ødegaard will play a central role in the decision-making process while seeking to maintain the company's innovative spirit and adaptability to change. She will collaborate closely with the rest of the board and management to ensure a collaborative approach to the company's strategy and goals.

- I believe in a board that serves as a good sparring partner for management but also ensures that we stretch a bit further by asking the right questions and challenge the rest of the company, says Ødegaard, adding that trial and error are an important part of innovation, so she wants room to share results and learnings even from what may not have necessarily yielded the desired effect.
