Pharem receives funding from NEFCO

SInce the launch of Zymatic earlier this year, Pharem have successfully increased their portfolio of customer related projects, both in the Nordic countries but also internationally. To accelerate these projects Pharem have been granted financing from Nefco.

The release of manmade organic pollutants, such as pharmaceutical residues, plastics, and pesticides, through wastewater streams is a growing concern because they can contaminate marine habitats and waterways. Pharem have developed enzyme-based wastewater treatment solutions that are targeting this concern and preventing such pollutants from being released into waterways.

The technology platform Zymatic uses natural degradation agents, i.e., enzymes, to treat wastewater at treatment plants, industrial streams, or other water environments to treat unwanted organic compounds. The combination of enzymes, material and enzyme immobilisation techniques provides a flexible approach for applying a wide range of treatment mechanisms for the treatment of organic micropollutants (such as pharmaceutical residues, pesticides, plastic chemicals etc.). Using the Zymatic platform, you can apply a wide range of enzymes to the treatment step, and this offers unique adaptability to local needs.
