    Norwegian seafood exports top NOK 107 billion in 2019

    Norway exported 2.7 million tonnes of seafood to a total value of NOK 107.3 billion in 2019. This represents a 3 per cent decrease in volume but an 8 per cent (or NOK 8.3 billion) increase in value, compared to 2018, which was a record year. This corresponds to 36 million meals every day throughout the year, or 25,000 meals per minute.

    Norwegian seafood exports amounted to NOK 8.8 billion in April. This is an increase of NOK 892 million or 11 per cent compared with April last year. Year to date, seafood exports total NOK 34.5 billion. This is an increase of NOK 2.8 billion or 9 per cent compared with the same period last year.

    Strong start for Norwegian seafood exports in 2019

    Norway exported 198,700 tonnes of seafood with a value of NOK 7.8 billion in February. This is a reduction of 57,000 tonnes or 22 per cent in volume but an increase in the value of NOK 670 million or 9 per cent compared with February last year. So far this year, 406,000 tonnes of seafood have been exported with a value of NOK 16.4 billion.

    Norway exported 276,000 tonnes of seafood to a value of NOK 9.9 billion in November. Volume fell by 8 per cent, while export value increased by 11 per cent or NOK 990 million compared with November 2017. So far this year, Norway has exported 2.5 million tonnes of seafood to a value of NOK 90.7 billion.

    Norway exported 251,000 tonnes of seafood worth NOK 9.9 billion in October. Compared with October 2017, volume was down by 12 per cent, while export value increased by 10 per cent or NOK 884 million.     Norway has exported 2 million tonnes of seafood with a total value of NOK 71 billion so far this year. This represents a volume increase of 174,000 tonnes or 8 per cent, and an increase in export value of NOK 2.3 billion or 3 per cent measured against the same period last year.     Record for August: 100 000 tons of Salmon exported

    Norway exported a total of 178 000 tonnes of seafood, valued at a total of NOK 8 billion in August. The volume equaled that of August 2017, while the value increased by 465 million NOK, up 6 % compared to August last year. So far this year, Norway has exported 1.8 million tonnes of seafood, valued at NOK 63 billion . The volume has increased by 11 %, while the increase in value was 4.5.%.

    Norway exported 927,000 tonnes of seafood with an export value of NOK 31.5 billion. The volume is the same as last year, and export values have increased by NOK 485 million or 2 per cent, compared with the first four months of 2017. In April, we exported 172,000 tonnes of seafood worth NOK 7.7 billion. The export volume is down 4 per cent, while exports increased by NOK 847 million or 12 per cent.
