Exports of cod, saithe, haddock and other groundfish totalled NOK 1.03 billion in May, some NOK 216 million more than in May 2014. An increase by value of 27 per cent and a new May record. The record breaking exports in May were mainly dried cod and fresh fish exports.
Norway exported seafood worth NOK 5.4 billion in April. A modest decline of NOK 386 million or 7 per cent compared with April last year.
Norway exported salmon worth NOK 3.5 billion in April. This is a decline of NOK 362 million or 9 per cent, year-on-year. Salmon exports so far this year have totalled NOK 14.6 billion. This represents an increase of 1 per cent compared with April 2014.
Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other ground fish worth NOK 1.16 billion in April. An increase of 33 per cent, or NOK 288 million compared with April 2014. This represents an all time high for April exports of codfish.
In the first quarter of 2015, Norway exported seafood worth NOK 17.4 billion. This represents an increase of 3 per cent or NOK 445 million compared to the first quarter of 2014. In March, seafood was exported for NOK 6.4 billion – an increase of 13 per cent or NOK 741 million year-on-year.
Norway exported salmon worth a total of NOK 11.2 billion in the first quarter of 2015. This represents an increase of 5 per cent, or NOK 536 million, compared to the first quarter last year. Measured by product weight, 243,300 tonnes of salmon were exported in the first quarter, which corresponds to an increase of 11 per cent year-on-year.
Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other types of whitefish totalling NOK 3.5 billion in the first quarter of 2015. This represents an increase of 4 per cent, or NOK 140 million, compared to the first quarter of last year. This represents an all time high for the first quarter. March also broke records with exports worth NOK 1.35 billion, an increase of 22 per cent year-on-year.
Norway exported pelagic fish worth NOK 1.3 billion in the first quarter of 2015. This is a decrease of 19 per cent compared to the first quarter in 2014. Herring was exported for NOK 498 million, a decrease of 31 per cent year-on-year. Mackerel exports reached a total of NOK 544 million – a decrease of 17 per cent.

Total exports by volume were 31,500 tonnes of whitefish in February. A decline of 33 per cent from February 2014. The largest reduction in February were the bacalhau and saltfish categories.

This is a slight decline of 3 per cent or NOK 31 million compared with the strong sales of January last year. Total exports by volume were 30,414 tonnes of cod fish in January, a decrease of 33 per cent compared to January 2014.
For the second year in a row Norway seafood exports have set new records. Norway exported seafood worth NOK 68.8 billion in 2014. This is 12 per cent, or NOK 7.3 billion more than in 2013.

2014 has been the best year ever for Norwegian exports of cod, saithe, haddock and other whitefish, both in terms of value and volume. Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other groundfish to a combined value of NOK 12 billion in 2014. This is 20 per cent, or NOK 2 billion more than in 2013. Exports by volume totalled 442,000 tonnes. This is a 3 per cent increase on 2013 volumes.
Norway exported pelagic fish worth NOK 7.5 billion in 2014. This is an increase of 9 per cent year-on-year.
Norway exported seafood worth NOK 6.6 billion in November, the same monthly total as November 2013. However year to date seafood exports have reached NOK 62.5 billion, an increase of NOK 7 billion, or 13 per cent, compared with the same period last year. This represents a new export record, surpassing the totals for the whole of 2013 by almost NOK 900 million.
Norway exported salmon worth NOK 3.9 billion in November. This is a reduction of NOK 96 million, or 2 per cent, compared with November 2013. Year to date salmon exports total NOK 39.6 billion. This is NOK 4.4 billion, or 12 per cent, more than the same period in 2013, according to data from the Norwegian Seafood Council.
