Vaser Lipo Vs Laserlipolysis (Laser Lipo) In Singapore

You are considering liposuction to remove the fat pockets that won't budge despite adhering to a strict diet and consistent HIIT workouts, but which one: Vaser Liposuction or Laserlipolysis (Laser Liposuction)?

What Are Vaser Liposuction And Laserlipolysis (Laser Liposuction)?

How Does Vaser Liposuction Work?

Vaser stands for "Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance." Vaser Lipo is a form of ultrasonic-assisted liposuction technique that is widely used by doctors around the world in liposuction.

A popular fat removal and body contouring procedure, Vaser Lipo is powerful yet gentle.

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia. Incisions are made on the targeted areas, followed by infiltration of anaesthetic fluid. Subsequently, the fat tissues are emulsified the fat through ultrasound waves, turning it into liquid form, which is easily removed. Vaser lipo causes less trauma to other important connective tissues such as nerves, blood vessels and fibrous support; thus, there is less pain, bruising and bleeding post-op. Recovery is faster with better skin retraction, too.

How Does Laserlipolysis (Laser Liposuction) Work?

Laserlipolysis (Laser Liposuction) is a form of laser-assisted liposuction technique generally useful for removing small pockets of fat, such as those on the neck, double chin, armpits, and knees.

During a Laserlipolysis (Laser Liposuction) small incisions are made on the targeted areas, and anaesthetic fluid is infltrated through the incisions. Subsequently, an optic fibre with laser light is inserted into the site to heat up and melt the subcutaneous fat. After the fat in the treated area is melted, it will be suctioned out.

How Much Does Vaser Liposuction Or Laser Liposuction Cost In Singapore?

Cost of Vaser Lipo and Laserlipolysis in Singapore

The procedure costs are influenced by factors such as:

  • The experience and qualifications of the doctor. Skill sets of the doctor
  • Body areas treated
  • The clinical condition of the patient such as skin laxity or amount of fat, type of body shape and others
  • Complexity of the surgery

Other costs include the anaesthesia type used, hospital or surgical facility charges, pre-op investigations such as blood tests or other laboratory work where necessary, consumables, compression garments, surgical instruments, pre- and post-medication, etc.

Vaser Lipo Vs Laser Lipo: Comparison Summary

Laserlipolysis (Laser Liposuction) Vaser Liposuction
Typical volume of fat removal Small to medium Small to large
Body areas Suitable for small fat pockets Able to target almost all areas of the body
Technology 635 nm wave length Laser energy Ultrasound wave energy
Less bruising
Ability to encourage skin retraction
Cellulite reduction Possible
Compression garment after surgery
Reusable fat for grafting X
Heat burns Thermal injury is possible; greater risk of 3rd-degree burns Doesn’t use heat
Incidence of tissue trauma Some of the energy might harm surrounding tissues but the tissue trauma is minimal Targets fat tissues; leaves the other important connective tissues relatively untouched

Fat Grafting From Fat Extracted With Vaser Lipo

A major difference between Vaser Lipo and Laserlipolysis (Laser Liposuction) is that the fat removed from Vaser Lipo can be reused and transferred to other body parts for revolumisation, such as breast fat grafting and buttock fat grafting.

The Ultrasound wave energy used in Vaser Lipo is specifically tuned to preserve connective tissue and maintain fat cell viability. The fat removed from Laserlipolysis cannot be reused because the heat from the laser destroys it.

Please bear in mind that no matter which liposuction technique you choose, the end result is greatly dependent on the doctor's skill set, artistic flair, deep anatomical understanding, and experience.
