World IP Day 2026: PitchMark launches Ideas.Exchange to help creators safeguard and license ideas in the age of AI
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Singapore, 26 April 2026 — As artificial intelligence reshapes how ideas are created, reused and monetised, PitchMark® today unveiled Ideas.Exchange, a first‑of‑its‑kind platform that enables creators to assert intellectual property rights, license ideas, and formalise creative conversations—securely and at scale.
Launched to coincide with World IP Day 2026, the platform responds to a growing global concern: ideas are increasingly used, reused and absorbed without attribution, consent or compensation, while legal and commercial frameworks struggle to keep pace.
“In an AI-driven economy, ideas are the raw material of growth—but creators are rarely protected at the moment they are most vulnerable,” said Mark Laudi, Managing Partner of PitchMark LLP. “Ideas.Exchange is designed to change that by giving creators proof, process and pricing power from the moment an idea is shared.”
What PitchMark is doing for creators
At its core, Ideas.Exchange focuses on three practical interventions:
- Asserting IP rights — establishing proof of authorship and precedence from the outset
- Licensing ideas — enabling ideas and creative works to be licensed without being given away
- Formalising conversations — turning informal pitches and discussions into governed, auditable engagements
Together, these aim to close the gap between having an idea and being paid for it.
How the platform works
Ideas.Exchange mobilises three proprietary resources developed by PitchMark®:
- The Ideas.Exchange clearing house – A blockchain‑driven marketplace where ideas and creative works can be listed, discovered, licensed and transacted, with built‑in provenance and attribution.
- Smart contracts – Automated licensing and usage terms that define how ideas may be evaluated, used or commercialised—reducing ambiguity, friction and disputes.
- The IP Governance Certification Program – A standards‑based framework that helps organisations demonstrate responsible handling of ideas and creative contributions, particularly in enterprise and AI contexts.
Why this matters now
The platform is designed to deliver three outcomes for creators:
- Deter idea theft by creating accountability and traceability
- Monetise ideas through structured licensing and price discovery for ideas
- Level the playing field, allowing creators to pitch at eye‑level to clients, platforms and organisations
While idea theft is rarely measured, its impact is significant. Beyond visible financial losses, organisations and creators absorb hidden costs—from talent attrition to innovation suppression—when ideas are misused or ignored.
“Most idea theft is informal, internal and unreported,” said Prof David Llewelyn, Professor Emeritus of Law at Singapore Management University. “That makes it both economically damaging and legally elusive. Platforms that introduce governance and transparency are an important step forward.”
Event and interview opportunity
The launch took place at Safeguard Your IP in the Age of AI, a media briefing and industry conversation hosted by CNBC’s Sri Jegarajah in Singapore.
