Business and sport showcase parallels that should be utilised, argues Bamboosh

Maidstone’s loudest direct sales and marketing agency, Bamboosh has recently launched an investigation to draw parallels between the world of sports and business after attending an evening hosted by boxing legend Anthony Joshua at London’s 02.

Bamboosh: About the company.

Bamboosh is eager to explore the link between athletes and business professionals, seeking to draw parallels between the two in order to expand the horizons of their contractors. In response to the recent Anthony Joshua event, the firm has launched an investigation of how their contractors can adopt aspects of world-famous sporting icons.

A study entitled Performance Excellence: A Personal Perspective on the Link Between Sport and Business, by Graham Jones published in The Journal of Applied Sports Psychology details parallels that can be drawn between the two disciplines. Both industries are defined as extremely challenging, yet rewarding. The study focuses on individuals in both instances, identifying their high levels of passion and a consistent and unyielding drive to succeed.

Author, Graham Jones argues that, “the principles of elite performance in sport are easily transferable to the business context, and also that sport has a considerable amount to learn from excellence in business.” The correlation between the two is often unnoticed, argues Bamboosh, yet they are hopeful their recent statement on the subject will encourage other businesses to look towards business development through insight into the sporting world.

Bamboosh has also drawn their own similarities between the industries, recognising that both sports professionals and entrepreneurs are continually seeking ways to improve and mould their futures. Exposing their contractors to sporting events and vocally drawing similarities between themselves and individuals they idolise is a crucial attribute in driving self-development states Bamboosh.

In reference to their recent investigation, Managing Director, Luke Walker has organised an upcoming trip for the firm’s top performers to the highly anticipated Tony Bellew vs David Haye fight on Saturday the 5th of May.

“The opportunity to take our contractors to see these huge sporting icons in action is invaluable to their development. We believe that these events are hugely beneficial to our contractors, helping to enhance a sense of community while exposing them to entrepreneurial skills such as passion and drive,” states Luke Walker, Managing Director of Bamboosh.
