UCB will start a phase III study that will evaluate the efficacy and safety of Cimzia® (certolizumab pegol) in combination with methotrexate (MTX) for inducing and sustaining clinical response in adults with early, progressive, active, moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA), who have not previously been treated with disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs).

Top-line results from the RAPID-PsA™ phase 3 study evaluating the efficacy and safety of Cimzia® (certolizumab pegol) in patients with adult onset active psoriatic arthritis (PsA) demonstrated a clinically relevant and statistically significant improvement at week 12 in the signs and symptoms of psoriatic arthritis.

UCB genomför den första randomiserade, kliniska blindade studien som jämför effekterna av TNF-hämmare för behandling av ledgångsreumatism. Studien ska utvärdera behandlingsresultaten för de två TNF-hämmarna Cimzia® (certolizumab pegol) och Humira® (adalimumab) utifrån den respons man får efter tre månaders behandling.
