New AI Hub opens in Amsterdam: 4,500 m² of office space leased at The Stack

HighBrook and Aroundtown have secured a new lease for 4,500 m² in the office building The Stack at Jacob Bontiusplaats 9 in Amsterdam. The new tenant is the AI hub The Stack, an initiative launched by Dutch technology entrepreneurs in partnership with Techleap.

In September 2026, The Stack will open in Amsterdam’s Oostenburg district as a new centre for Artificial Intelligence, bringing together selected technology-focused start-ups, investors and corporate partners to accelerate the development of European AI innovation and strengthen Amsterdam’s position as a leading innovation hub over the long term. Among the first tenants are Ubicloud, Dawnguard and Iconic Works. With the aim of concentrating talent, expertise and entrepreneurial experience in one location while fostering collaboration across Europe’s innovation ecosystem, the AI hub is expected to expand to 12,000 m² by 2029 and host more than 200 founders.

The Stack was founded by AI entrepreneurs Lennard Zwart, Maarten Stolk and Philip Gast in collaboration with Techleap. The initiative is backed by more than €10 million in private capital and supported by organisations including IMC, ABN AMRO, ClickHouse, Deloitte, Google, Miro and Prosus, as well as the City of Amsterdam. Esther Bisschop has been appointed Founding Director.

The Stack is designed as a platform for high-growth AI companies. In addition to modern workspace, the concept includes event facilities, development programs and direct access to investors, research institutions and industry partners. Over time, the location is expected to evolve into a key hub for AI innovation in the Netherlands and beyond.

Through ATechX, Aroundtown actively supports innovation and PropTech start-ups as an integral part of its corporate strategy.

In september 2026 opent The Stack zijn deuren in de Amsterdamse wijk Oostenburg als nieuw centrum voor Kunstmatige Intelligentie (AI). De hub brengt een geselecteerde groep technologiegedreven start-ups, investeerders en corporate partners samen om de ontwikkeling van Europese AI-innovatie te versnellen en de positie van Amsterdam als toonaangevend innovatiecentrum op lange termijn verder te versterken. Tot de eerste huurders behoren Ubicloud, Dawnguard en Iconic Works. Met als doel talent, expertise en ondernemerschap op één locatie te bundelen en samenwerking binnen het Europese innovatie-ecosysteem te stimuleren, wordt verwacht dat de AI-hub tegen 2029 zal uitgroeien tot 12.000 m² en onderdak zal bieden aan meer dan 200 oprichters.

The Stack is opgericht door AI-ondernemers Lennard Zwart, Maarten Stolk en Philip Gast in samenwerking met Techleap. Het initiatief wordt ondersteund door meer dan €10 miljoen aan privaat kapitaal en geniet de steun van organisaties zoals IMC, ABN AMRO, ClickHouse, Deloitte, Google, Miro en Prosus, evenals de gemeente Amsterdam. Esther Bisschop is aangesteld als Founding Director.

The Stack is ontworpen als platform voor snelgroeiende AI-bedrijven. Naar verwachting zal de locatie zich ontwikkelen tot een belangrijk knooppunt voor AI-innovatie in Nederland en daarbuiten.

Gegründet wurde The Stack von den KI-Unternehmern Lennard Zwart, Maarten Stolk und Philip Gast gemeinsam mit Techleap. Die Initiative wird mit mehr als 10 Millionen Euro privatem Kapital finanziert und von Unternehmen wie IMC, ABN AMRO, ClickHouse, Deloitte, Google, Miro und Prosus sowie der Stadt Amsterdam unterstützt. Die Leitung übernimmt Gründungsdirektorin Esther Bisschop.
