Västerbotten celebrates 25 years at the Veranda

January 17 marks the start of our annual themed menu weeks at the Veranda restaurant. First up is the Västerbotten buffet, with a bounty of traditional dishes and accoutrements from the region. The buffet includes venison, arctic char and, of course, the famous cheese.

The Västerbotten buffet at the Grand Hôtel is a true classic. Since 1991, guests of the restaurant have enjoyed traditional dishes from one the most celebrated culinary regions of Sweden. This year the Veranda restaurant will be serving the Västerbotten buffet for the 25th year in a row, with dishes including pepper-marinated elk fillet, grilled arctic char and a selection of the region’s best cheeses.

“The Västerbotten region has a unique and distinctive gastronomy. We are delighted to host this popular themed-week and are particularly happy in celebrating the 25th anniversary of the buffet at the restaurant,” says Karl Persson, restaurant manager at the Veranda.

The Västerbotten buffet will be served at the Veranda from January 15 to February 8.
