Swedish Craftsmanship in Every Glass – Grand Hôtel Transforms Tradition into Taste with the Cadier Bar’s New Cocktail Menu
Stockholm, November 26, 2024. Swedish craftsmanship takes center stage as Grand Hôtel Stockholm unveils its 2025 cocktail menu. Building on last year’s celebration of Swedish nature and tradition, the award-winning bar team at the Cadier Bar now turns its focus to the country’s local artisans. Drawing inspiration from across Sweden, this year’s cocktail menu, The Craftsmanship Menu, is a tribute to Swedish craftsmanship culture.
Step into the woodcarver’s aromatic workshop, the glassblower’s glowing studio, or the steaming distillery. When Grand Hôtel Stockholm presents this year’s cocktail menu, they take guests beyond the Cadier Bar to meet the many local artisans who, alongside the bar team, create the five-star experience. From the wood artist who designed the bar’s iconic wooden pillars to the glassblower crafting the exquisite glassware and the bartender turning carefully selected ingredients into flavorful masterpieces, each element is infused with artisanal expertise.
“This year, we want to highlight the incredible local artisans we have the honor of collaborating with daily at the Cadier Bar. Not just our suppliers of the key ingredients we use to craft our cocktails – like the distillates from Folkungagatan in Stockholm – but also artisans such as woodcarvers, stonemasons, and glassblowers, who each play a vital role in our work. It’s a unique opportunity to shine a light on those who might not always be in the spotlight of our guests’ experiences but are absolutely essential to what we create,” says Anton Windmar, Bar Manager at the Cadier Bar, Grand Hôtel Stockholm.
This year’s cocktail menu, brought to life with illustrations by Jan Vana, features a total of 15 artisanal cocktails, three of which are alcohol-free. Among the highlights is The Distiller, made with rum, champagne, brioche, and saffron vermouth – ingredients all distilled in various ways to honor the craft of distillation. The menu also includes The Bartender, where guests are invited to step into the bartender’s shoes. With three smaller servings, guests have the chance to experiment and craft their own perfectly balanced cocktail.
Over the past year, the Cadier Bar at Grand Hôtel has received numerous awards and accolades. At this year’s Bartenders’ Choice Awards (BCA), Grand Hôtel was awarded Cocktail Menu of the Year, while the Cadier Bar’s manager, Anton Windmar, was named Bartender of the Year. Additionally, the Cadier Bar achieved a flawless score of 100 out of 100 when Falstaff named it Stockholm’s best bar.
Karl Persson, Food & Beverage Manager at Grand Hôtel Stockholm, reflects on these honors: “It’s an incredible privilege to receive these awards, and I want to extend a huge thank you to the bar team, led by Anton Windmar, who always deliver their absolute best. We have an extraordinary team at the Cadier Bar, full of expertise and creativity. The cocktail menu is an opportunity to challenge ourselves and explore new methods and unexpected ways to create a five-star experience time and again.”
The Craftsmanship Menu launches on November 27 and has been developed by the Cadier Bar’s team, led by Bar Manager Anton Windmar, who has been part of Grand Hôtel Stockholm and the Cadier Bar since October 2021.
