    At Grand Hôtel we have just opened the terrace, with a magnificent view over the water to the Royal Palace. We have put together a list with our favorite summer places in Stockholm. The list includes the noteworthy classical places as well as the hidden gems, all perfect for sunny days and amazing wine and dining experiences, but still compatible with social distancing regulations.

  • Grand Group AB acquires Hotel Drottning Kristina

    The Grand Group AB is pleased to announce the acquisition of Hotel Drottning Kristina, a move that further strengthens the group’s position as leader in the luxury hospitality segment in Stockholm. The Grand Group, which runs the Grand Hôtel Stockholm and Lydmar Hotel, will take over Hotel Drottning Kristina’s operations from October 1, 2018.

  • Grand Hôtel welcomes the Venetian countryside with exclusive fragrances from Bottega Veneta

    Grand Hôtel is pleased to present new bathroom amenities from the Italian brand Bottega Veneta, renowned for fine craftsmanship in exclusive leather products. Inspired by art and nature, the hotel’s new Eau Légère scented products exude tones of citrus, bergamot, patchouli and oak moss. All guest room bathrooms at the hotel will be stocked with these exclusive toiletries in mid-May.

  • Guest chef performance by Grand Hôtel at Tokyo Food Festival

    This year, Japan and Sweden celebrate 150 years of diplomatic ties. In conjunction with the celebrations, the Palace Hotel Tokyo has invited the Grand Hôtel’s executive chef, Gabriel Ask, to make a week-long guest chef performance with a Swedish touch. From April 20-27, Gabriel and his team will take over the Grand Kitchen restaurant at the Palace Hotel Tokyo.

  • Grand Hôtel Stockholm signs up star architect Martin Brudnizki

    In spring 2018, two of Grand Hôtel’s signature suites will undergo a complete redesign. For the job, the hotel has selected Swedish-born Martin Brudnizki, a world-renowned, award-winning interior architect who is based in London and New York. The renovation of the suites marks Brudnizki’s first project in Sweden.

  • Makeover for Grand Hôtel with New Façade

    The Grand Hôtel will be renovating its façade in the first quarter, bringing out the best of the building’s history; one that stretches from the imposing original façade to the clean-lined classicism that characterizes the building today. The vision is to recreate a façade that depicts the Grand Hôtel’s rich heritage and that is in harmony with the surrounding buildings at Blasieholmen.

  • Readers of Condé Nast Travelers choose Grand Hôtel

    For the 30th year in a row, the influential travel and lifestyle magazine Condé Nast Traveler asked its readers to rank the best hotels in the world. Among the 130 hotels in 40 countries to win a place on the list, the Grand Hôtel was the only hotel in Sweden to make the cut.

  • Fredrik Lindfors wins Nordic Sommelier Championship

    The Nordic sommelier championship wrapped up late last night, awarding Fredrik Lindfors yet another championship title. Fredrik, who is Head Sommelier at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm, is already a two-time winner of the Swedish sommelier championship. He also won the Vana Tallinn Grand Prix earlier this autumn.

  • Mathias Dahlgren creates next generation vegetarian cuisine at Rutabaga

    February 13 will mark the opening of Rutabaga – a brand new restaurant by Mathias Dahlgren. At Rutabaga, Dahlgren will build his vision of future cuisine featuring world class lacto-ovo-vegetarian dishes. Guests can expect a warm and welcoming restaurant experience in a relaxed and vibrant, high-tempo environment.

  • Shellfish sensation at the Grand Hôtel

    The Grand Hôtel’s annual shellfish weeks at the Veranda restaurant are eagerly awaited by many. In order to meet the demand for this celebrated shellfish buffet, the hotel is now introducing a shellfish platter at the Cadier Bar.

  • Mathias Dahlgren to close Matsalen and Matbordet

    Mathias Dahlgren’s restaurants Matsalen and Matbordet at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm will be serving their last meals on December 22, 2016. Thereafter, the premises will be undergoing an extensive renovation, making way for a completely new restaurant endeavour.
