It’s finally time for the Grand Hôtel’s summer terrace to set up the parasols and open up for the season. With a fantastic location right on the Stockholm waterfront, the Terrace offers refreshing drinks, a well-composed menu and great mood music.
Grand Café on Strömkajen is once again opening its doors to welcome the spring with light lunches and pastries straight from the Grand Hôtel’s kitchen and patisserie.
The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm is carrying out an extensive renovation of all rooms and suites in the Burmanska Palace part of the hotel this year. Located on the top floor, is the Princess Lilian suite – Grand Hôtel’s premier suite, an expansive 330 square metres in size. Inaugurated in 2006, the Princess Lilian Suite now has a completely new interior following the renovation.
Grand Hôtel opens the door to spring with its popular Easter buffet. At the end of March, the buffet at the Veranda restaurant will be brimming with Easter delicacies such as poached eggs, elderberry-gravlax, braised fillet of veal and, of course, the Grand Hôtel’s very own house-marinated herring. All enjoyed with fantastic views of the Stockholm waterfront and the Royal Palace.
On February 14, Valentine’s Day, a celebration of love will be ongoing at the Grand Hôtel, which will be filled with roses, joy and people who love each other.
The Grand Hôtel is replacing the fitness machines in the popular Grand Hôtel Nordic Spa & Fitness for state-of-the-art, eco-friendly products from the ARTIS® Renew from Technogym. The machines harness the energy generated by the user’s workout and returns it to power the machine, while channelling any surplus energy to the general electricity grid.
January 16 marks the first of our annual themed menu weeks at the Veranda restaurant. As in previous years, first up is the Västerbotten buffet, offering a host of traditional dishes and accoutrements from the region.
The Grand Hôtel is delighted to present its very own scented candle, elegantly handcrafted with an exquisite fragrance.
The Grand Café, beautifully situated on the Stockholm waterfront, will be open on weekends up to Christmas.
The Grand Hôtel is now introducing luxury Italian bathroom products from the Acqua di Parma lifestyle brand in all bathrooms throughout the hotel. The products include bath and body products – providing an added dimension to the total hotel experience.
The Grand Hôtel’s sidewalk dining and bar area is once again open for the summer season, this year with an exciting new cocktail menu, a more elaborate snack menu and an expanded lounge area. At the Terrace, guests can enjoy cool summer cocktails, delectable food and an unbeatable view of the royal palace.
Grand Hôtel is launching four new spa treatments, two of which – Grand Glow and Instant Glow – are specially developed for the Grand Hôtel in collaboration with the world renowned dermo-cosmetic company Biologique Recherche. Also added to the spa’s exclusive menu of treatments are an anti-stress massage called Flow and a Chakra Flow massage.
The Veranda restaurant will soon have a new entrance. From Friday, May 8, 2015 guests will be able to access the Veranda from Stallgatan, the street to the left of the hotel.
Grand Hôtel is complementing its fleet of luxury cars, which to date comprises Mercedes-Benz S-class, with a Bentley Flying Spur. The car is the next generation of the Bentley Continental Flying Spur model, which was presented in Geneva in 2005, since then becoming Bentley’s hallmark of pride in the luxury limousine section.
For the third year in a row, the Grand Hôtel’s summer café will be opening for the season on Strömkajen in front of the hotel. Extending a warm welcome to passers-by, Stockholmers and tourists alike, the Grand Café will be offering lighter lunches and Swedish ‘fika’ straight from the Grand Hôtel’s kitchen and patisserie.
At the Gala SPA AWARDS 2015, Grand Hôtel Nordic Spa & Fitness was awarded the prestigious World’s Most Innovative Spa accolade. Grand Hôtel won over three other nominated spa facilities, and was the only Swedish spa to be nominated this year.
Grand Hôtel is restructuring its restaurant and events & conferences operations, adding two new management positions. Karl Persson is now the hotel’s Food & Beverage Manager, with responsibility for the hotel’s entire restaurant operations, and Camilla Mörk has been recruited as the hotel’s new Events Manager, responsible for managing and developing the hotel’s events & conferences operations.
