Press release -
Motosumo launches #TrainForMovember to support the Movember Foundation’s men’s health initiatives. Fitness On Demand joins as a donation partner.
Copenhagen, Denmark – October 22, 2024 – Motosumo proudly launches #TrainForMovember, the eighth edition of its Cycle For Change series. This campaign aims to raise awareness and funds to support the Movember Foundation, which is committed to helping men live happier, healthier, and longer lives - closely aligning with Motosumo’s vision. From November 4-10, 2024, indoor cycling enthusiasts worldwide are invited to participate in a week-long challenge, raising awareness for mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Leading digital fitness platform, Fitness On Demand, joins #TrainForMovember as a donation partner.
A spokesperson from Movember, Europe, commented on the campaign:
“We are thrilled to see Motosumo’s community pedaling for men’s health, as it’s an issue that affects us all. We all have partners, fathers, brothers, sons, and mates that we love and when these men are well, the benefits ripple through relationships, families, and communities. But when these men are unwell and unsupported, we all feel it. #TrainForMovember is an inspiring example of how global collective action can help shine a light on our collective mission to change the face of men’s health and bring much-needed action and awareness around the issue.”
How the campaign works
The #TrainForMovember campaign kicks off on Monday, November 4, and will run until midnight, on Sunday, November 10.
With Fitness On Demand joining as a donation partner this time, the total donation goal has been raised to $2,500, building on the $1,500 target from previous campaigns. All Motosumo users worldwide, including those attending via Fitness On Demand´s digital platform, will cycle during live and on-demand classes to raise awareness and contribute to men’s health.
For every 60 kilometers cycled, the campaign will donate $1 to support Movember’s initiatives, with a total contribution of up to $2,500. The goal is to cycle a collective 150,000 km during the campaign week. Motosumo app users can also interact with special campaign features, including the iconic Movember mustache emoji, which will be activated during classes to keep the community engaged and connected to the cause throughout the week
Kresten Juel Jensen, CEO of Motosumo, commented:
"We’re excited to support the Movember movement with our #TrainForMovember campaign, this time together with our digital partner Fitness On Demand who joins the campaign as a donation partner. Men’s health is an issue that affects us all, and our goal with this campaign is to raise awareness and inspire action among our global cycling community. Fitness is more than just exercise - it’s about making a positive difference for oneself and those around us, which is our goal with this campaign."
Nick Gustafson, Marketing Director at Fitness On Demand said:
"Our mission is to support and empower people on their wellness journeys, whether they’re looking to make an impact on their own life or someone else’s. We’re incredibly proud to partner with Motosumo and support #TrainForMovember to raise awareness and funds that can help men live longer, more fulfilling lives and improve health outcomes worldwide."
Since its founding in 2003, The Movember Foundation has become the leading charity transforming the face of men’s health globally. The organization focuses on three major areas: mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Globally, men are dying nearly 4.5 years earlier than women, often due to preventable causes. Over the years, Movember has funded more than 1,320 men’s health projects worldwide, including groundbreaking research, early detection programs, and support services, helping to improve health outcomes for men in every corner of the globe (source Movember.com).
