Motosumo Launches #TrainForBrains Campaign for Mental Health Awareness - April 29-May 3 - 2024

Copenhagen, April 18, 2024 — Motosumo, the digital indoor cycling platform, announces the launch of its second campaign of 2024, #TrainForBrains. This will be the sixth version of the ongoing Cycle For Change series, which aims to raise awareness and support for mental health. The chosen donation partner for this campaign is The Mental Health Foundation, the UK's leading charity dedicated to mental health since 1949.

Cycling Towards Mental Wellness

The #TrainForBrains campaign kicks off on Monday, April 29, and will run until midnight, Friday, May 3rd. Motosumo will donate $1 for every 100 km its global community will cycle collectively during the five campaign days, whether attending live or on-demand cycling classes. The goal is to reach 150,000 km, equalling a total donation of $1,500. This endeavor highlights the link between physical activity and mental well-being while supporting the crucial work of The Mental Health Foundation. This organization has been at the forefront of preventing mental health problems and ensuring that individuals and communities thrive, with a focus on those most at risk.

"Our mission is to provide gyms and wellness operators with tools for an unparalleled indoor cycling experience which will, in turn, benefit Motosumo app users. In a time when many are struggling with their mental health, our #TrainForBrains campaign signifies our health commitment, blending physical fitness with mental well-being. Choosing The Mental Health Foundation as our donation partner this time underscores the importance of mental health in fostering healthier and happier lives, highlighting the inseparable connection between mind and body," said Kresten Juel Jensen, CEO and Co-founder of Motosumo.

"Users of the Motosumo app will know that mental well-being is often addressed by our instructors leading the cycling classes, recognizing that wellness thrives for the participants when both training and mental targets for the class or day overall are set," Kresten continued.

Empowering Movement for Mental Health

This year, The Mental Health Foundation's Mental Health Awareness Week (May 13-19, 2024) focuses on "Movement: Moving more for our mental health." This theme aligns with Motosumo's belief in the power of exercise to improve mental health. Many individuals struggle to find motivation for physical activity, and #TrainForBrains aims to address this challenge by encouraging participation and raising awareness of the mental health benefits of staying active.

“We are thrilled to receive support from Motosumo through their #TrainForBrains campaign,” said Fiona Halton, Head of High Value Relationships at the Mental Health Foundation. “This campaign will support our ongoing efforts and highlight the importance of physical activity in maintaining mental health, aligning perfectly with the theme of this year's Mental Health Awareness Week. Donations raised will enable us to keep challenging the way things are done and create fundamental change in the UK’s approach to mental health."
