Revert your post pregnancy body with these successful weight and fat loss strategies

The challenges a woman faces during the gestation period and the experience of childbirth are, without a doubt, incomparable to any other life experience. Yet, it doesn't stop there, for soon after giving birth, a new challenge arises.

Getting back into shape post-pregnancy takes effort, and when you factor in the hormonal changes involved after giving birth, the task may seem overwhelming. But don't give up. Apart from signing up for post-natal exercise classes, below are other effective things you can do.

Walking your way to fitness

If your doctor has cleared you, walking is a good start. Start slow and use support if you have to. It's a form of low-impact exercise but beneficial nonetheless. Once you've regained strength, try to cover more distance but do not overexert your body by pushing yourself too hard.

Have a splash

Swimming and water aerobics are excellent cardiovascular workouts. You can improve cardio health, build endurance and lose weight simultaneously. Plus, getting a dose of Vitamin D is great for skin health and mood too, but remember to slap on sunblock no less than SPF 50+ when you are in the pool.

Successful weight loss strategies

Did you know you must combine regular exercise and a healthy calorie-controlled diet to lose fat successfully? Unfortunately, you cannot lose weight healthily if you just do one or the other. A study published in Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center shows that "you get the biggest bang for your buck by combining a healthy weight-loss diet -- which in this case meant reducing calories by cutting fat intake and boosting the consumption of low-calorie foods -- with regular, moderate-intensity aerobic exercise."

The study reported other successful weight loss strategies, including preparing meals at home and eating less often at restaurants.

The solution to Persistent and Stubborn Fat that’s resistant to diet and exercise

Losing weight seems relatively straightforward and easily doable on your own, but there are instances where it's not. How much fat we store or lose is dependent on our genetic makeup. Hence, for example, the appearance of fat around the thighs and certain other parts despite having a slender or slim waistline. These stubborn pockets of fat are not easily eliminated with diet and exercise.

Vaser Liposuction is an ultrasonic-assisted liposuction technique, meant to correct disproportionate body shape, and remove stubborn body fat that does not respond to diet and exercise. It selectively destructs fat cells by means of emulsification and enhances skin tightening which is not achievable by traditional liposuction. The degree of skin firming following Vaser Liposuction will depend on the patient's age and skin quality.

Compared to traditional liposuction, the recovery time from Vaser Liposuction is faster, and the patient can return to the daily routine within 2 to 3 days. Recovery from traditional liposuction may take 10 to 14 days and requires at least 24 hours of inpatient care (hospitalisation) post-op.

Vaser Liposuction can remove fat from almost any body part, such as the abdomen, back, waist, thighs, hips, male chest, buttocks, arms, armpits, neck, knees and calves.

Fat removed during the procedure is permanently lost. It is highly recommended that you do your part to maintain the results. This means adopting a healthy lifestyle that includes adequate physical activity. The procedure removes fat from the targeted body region. However, it does not prevent fat gain, especially if you do not take care of your body.
