Children’s culture in focus as World of Volvo fills the winter break with experiences
From 9–13 February, World of Volvo’s event hall in Gothenburg will be transformed into a creative meeting place for the whole family. During the winter break, children and young people are invited to enjoy dance performances, children’s theatre, VR experiences and open, inspiring spaces – where culture, technology and play come together.
“We want to create a winter break that invites and inspires both children and adults, where it’s easy to try things out, discover something new and be entertained,” says Viktoria Wallner, Experience Officer at World of Volvo.
Dance performances and hands-on activities – Cirkusbaletten
On Monday and Tuesday (9–10 February), World of Volvo welcomes the Swedish Young Ballet School with the performance “Cirkusbaletten and the Magical Story Box” – an energetic mix of classical ballet and modern dance performed by young dancers.
Four performances will be given each day. After every show, the audience is invited to try dancing, try on costumes, meet the performers and take photos.The performance is aimed at children and young people aged 4–14.
Theatre performances – Alfons Åberg’s Culture House
On Thursday, 12 February, Alfons Åberg’s Culture House visits World of Volvo with two popular theatre productions:
• Who Will Save Alfons Åberg?
• Why Is the Dragon Crying?
After the performances, there will be an opportunity to meet the actors.
Opera meets the future – Operaverse in VR
On Thursday and Friday (12–13 February), the Gothenburg Opera presents its Operaverse.
With VR headsets, visitors step into a virtual world filled with opera, dance and musical theatre – a completely new kind of performing arts experience.
Open family zone all week
The family zone will be open every day (9–13 February). Here, children and adults can build with Lego, paint, do crafts and play together with toys from Volvo and Dickie Toys.
Tickets and practical information
All winter break activities are included in the admission ticket to the World of Volvo exhibition.
Separate tickets are required for the Alfons Åberg’s Culture House theatre performances.
