From 9–13 February, World of Volvo’s event hall in Gothenburg will be transformed into a creative meeting place for the whole family. During the winter break, children and young people are invited to enjoy dance performances, children’s theatre, VR experiences and open, inspiring spaces – where culture, technology and play come together.
This December, World of Volvo invites Gothenburg residents and visitors to two atmospheric and playful activities that brighten up the winter darkness: our traditional Lucia Vehicle Parade on Avenyn and the family-friendly holiday program, Hjullovet.
On March 11 and on Evert Taube’s birthday, March 12, the grand Taube Day concert will take place. This year’s performance is titled: “Ellinor! Ellinor! Ellinor! – a ship, a daughter, a queen.”
World of Volvo has been named the winner of the Swedish Architects Västra Götaland Architecture Prize 2025. The building, designed by the architecture firm Henning Larsen on behalf of Volvo Cars and Volvo Group, receives the award for its strong architectural expression and its contribution to the urban environment of Gothenburg.

The new exhibition To the Moon and Back – the story of the Hasselblad camera in space opens on September 19, 2025, and takes visitors behind the scenes of one of humanity’s most iconic moments: the first steps on the Moon.
World of Volvo kicks off the summer with the exhibition Volvo in Motorsport, where visitors are taken on a high-speed journey through Volvo’s involvement in motorsport – from classic rally cars to circuit racing and technical innovation.
As spring blossoms, World of Volvo invites the public to a month filled with dance, music, and the joy of movement. Across three inspiring events in May, visitors will have the chance to experience culture up close – whether through unique encounters with musicians, captivating dance performances, or engaging activities for parents with babies.
The exhibition Volvo Models – Through the Years presents, for the first time ever, Volvo’s 98-year history gathered in one place. On the large plaza on level 2 of World of Volvo, over 100 detailed scale models showcase Volvo’s development through the decades – from the very first ÖV4 to today’s EX90.
Each year, Architects Sweden awards the Kasper Salin Prize to a Swedish building, or a group of buildings, of high architectural quality. This year, World of Volvo has the great honour of being one of four nominees for Sweden’s most prestigious architecture award. The winner will be announced at the Architecture Gala on April 3 in Stockholm.
In conjunction with the inaugural Taube Week, taking place from 9–15 March, World of Volvo is honoured to present World of Taube, a unique art exhibition showcasing works from throughout Taube’s lifetime. This will be the first dedicated exhibition of his art in Gothenburg, featuring several personal pieces – including some unique works that have never been displayed publicly before.
On 26–27 April 2025, GotGuitars, the Nordic region’s premier guitar fair, returns to welcome music enthusiasts from across the country. This year’s event will be hosted in collaboration with World of Volvo, transforming the venue into an arena brimming with guitars, music, and inspiration. Tickets go on sale on 5 February.
Winter break is approaching! During week 7, World of Volvo invites you to this year’s second edition of the FamilyFun concept. A week filled with playful, exciting and educational family activities – all completely free of charge. From Monday to Saturday during winter break, visitors can enjoy everything from action-packed competitions to spectacular performances focused on movement and health.
The autumn break is approaching, and the concept Family Fun – which attracted hundreds of families during the summer – is now returning to World of Volvo, this time with an autumn twist. Experience autumn break fun where the entire family can explore, learn, and play through dance, music, and crafts. Family Fun is open from October 28-29 and November 1-3 with all activities offered free of charge.
World of Volvo opens its doors for Gothenburg Sustainability Expo, which is part of Gothenburg Tech Week. The event will enable innovators, industry leaders, and engaged individuals from all over the world meet to discuss and encourage development in sustainability. With free activities for families, Ceno's delightful outdoor dining, and the acclaimed exhibition, there’s something for everyone this summer.
The summer is here, and World of Volvo is now launching a brand-new concept that is free of charge. Family Fun is a summer initiative where children and parents can discover, learn, and have fun together. Every Wednesday and Friday, between the 3rd of July and 2nd of August, activities such as planting of sunflowers, music-making and high-tech performance art will be arranged – all at no cost.
Victor Leksell will be the first artist to perform on the World of Volvo concert stage. The experience centre now announces three concerts on home turf of the Gothenburg artist. On 26, 27, and 28 September, Victor Leksell will take the stage at World of Volvo. The concert on 26 September will have no age restriction, while the other two days will have a minimum age limit of 13 years.
The award-winning restaurateur Götaplatsgruppen has been chosen as the dining provider for World of Volvo. The experience centre is now open to visitors who can enjoy dining at Ceno Brasserie, a restaurant where traditional Nordic and Swedish cuisine is infused with influences from all over the world. Star chef Stefan Karlsson is one of the creative minds behind Ceno.
