World of Volvo Expands Its Jazz Programme This Autumn
Following the success of its Thursday Jazz initiative, World of Volvo is continuing to give jazz an even more prominent place in its programme. This autumn, the venue will be filled with jazz, soul, blues and swing – from recurring Thursday evenings at Ceno Brasserie to two major concerts celebrating iconic voices in jazz and popular music: Sonya Hedenbratt and Frank Sinatra.
Thursday Jazz has quickly become a much-loved part of Gothenburg’s music scene. Over eleven Thursdays, audiences can enjoy two acts each evening, with free admission and a programme spanning traditional jazz, swing, soul, blues and Swedish singer-songwriter traditions.
“It’s fantastic to see how Thursday Jazz has grown and become a regular meeting place for both jazz lovers and new audiences. We want to build on that interest and continue welcoming visitors in the evenings as well,” says Viktoria Wallner, Chief Operating & Experience Officer.

Two Major Jazz Concerts This Autumn
In addition to Thursday Jazz, World of Volvo is presenting two major jazz concerts this autumn.
A Jazz Tribute to Sonya Hedenbratt
On 10 October, Gothenburg Jazz Orchestra and Viktoria Tolstoy will take the stage for Låt hjärtat vá me – a warm and humorous tribute to Gothenburg’s beloved jazz icon Sonya Hedenbratt.
Throughout the evening, Isidor Olsbjörk will guide the audience through the programme. With humour, magic and spontaneous interaction with the audience, he creates a vibrant setting for the concert and helps make Låt hjärtat vá me much more than a traditional jazz concert.
Big Band Tribute to Frank Sinatra
On 20 November, Bohuslän Big Band will follow with Frankly! – A Tribute to Sinatra, a spectacular tribute to one of the greatest artists in music history.
Taking on the vocals is Niklas Gabrielsson Lind, whose voice bears such a striking resemblance to Sinatra’s that even the most devoted Sinatra fan can occasionally be fooled.
The music will be performed using original arrangements by legendary arrangers including Nelson Riddle, Quincy Jones, Billy May and Neal Hefti. These arrangements bring the concert the distinctive big band sound and atmosphere of Sinatra’s golden era.
With Thursday Jazz and two major concerts this autumn, World of Volvo continues to establish itself as a meeting place for jazz in Gothenburg. The ambition is to create musical experiences that welcome dedicated jazz enthusiasts while also attracting those who are curious to discover something new.
