Aroundtown Foundation unterstützt „sofahopper.de“, ein Projekt der Off Road Kids Stiftung
Die Aroundtown Foundation gibt finanzielle Unterstützung für den Ausbau der Onlineplattform „sofahopper.de“, ein Projekt der Off Road Kids Stiftung. Die Geldmittel werden für die notwendige Erweiterung und Aufrüstung der Technik (Serverstruktur, Laptops und Software) genutzt. Mit dieser konkreten Unterstützung trägt die Aroundtown Foundation dazu bei, dass in Not geratene Kinder und Jugendliche online gezielt angesprochen werden und ihnen geholfen werden kann.
Da zu Corona-Zeiten keine Streetworker unterwegs sein können, versucht die Off Road Kids Stiftung bedrohte Kinder durch das bundesweite Online-Hilfsangebot „sofahopper.de“ zu erreichen. 40 Prozent der hilfesuchenden Kinder und Jugendlichen kommen aus den Ballungsräumen Berlin, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Hamburg und Köln, wo die Stiftung entsprechende Streetwork-Standorte betreibt.
„Sofahopper“ bezeichnet junge Menschen, die in ihrer Not bei mehr oder weniger guten Bekannten vorläufig auf dem Sofa unterkommen, die nicht selten - genau wie ihre „Gastgeber“ – verzweifelt sind und daher Rat und Hilfe im Internet suchen. Bei der Eingabe „Bin obdachlos, was tun?“ erscheint als Treffer das Hilfsangebot von „sofahopper.de“. Nutzte vor Corona etwa ein Drittel der Hilfesuchenden das seit knapp drei Jahren existierende Angebot, hat das vergangene Jahr bei der bundesweit tätigen Hilfsorganisation alle traurigen Rekorde gebrochen. 2474 Hilferufe von verzweifelten Straßenkindern und jungen Menschen, die in Deutschland akut von Obdachlosigkeit bedroht sind, sprechen eine deutliche Sprache. Das Ziel der überregionalen Straßensozialarbeit von Off Road Kids ist, dass aus „Ausreißern“ gar nicht erst Straßenkinder werden. Daher legt man hier stets größten Wert darauf, möglichst zügig mit diesen jungen Menschen nach der bestmöglichen dauerhaft tragfähigen Perspektive zu ermitteln.

Aroundtown Foundation supports "sofahopper.de", a project of the Off Road Kids Foundation
The Aroundtown Foundation provides financial support for the expansion of the online platform "sofahopper.de", a project of the Off Road Kids Foundation. The funds will be used for the necessary expansion and upgrade of the technology (server structure, laptops and software). With this concrete support, the Aroundtown Foundation contributes to the fact that children and young people in need are specifically addressed online and can be helped.
Since no street workers can be on the road during Corona times, the Off Road Kids Foundation tries to reach threatened children through the nationwide online help offer "sofahopper.de". 40 percent of the children and young people seeking help come from metropolitan areas such as Berlin, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Cologne, where the foundation operates corresponding streetwork locations.
"Sofahopper" refers to young people who, in their distress, temporarily stay on the sofa with more or less good acquaintances and are often - just like their "hosts" - desperate, therefore seek advice and help on the Internet. When entering "I am homeless, what to do?" the help offered by "sofahopper.de" appears as a hit. Before Corona, about a third of those seeking help took advantage of the offer, which has existed for almost three years, but the past year has broken all the sad records at the nationwide aid organization. 2474 cries for help from desperate street children and young people who are acutely threatened by homelessness in Germany speak for themselves. The goal of the supra-regional road social work of Off Road Kids is that "runaways" do not even become street children.
Therefore, it is always very important to research with these young people as quickly as possible for the best possible sustainable perspective.
