The Grand Hôtel will be renovating its façade in the first quarter, bringing out the best of the building’s history; one that stretches from the imposing original façade to the clean-lined classicism that characterizes the building today. The vision is to recreate a façade that depicts the Grand Hôtel’s rich heritage and that is in harmony with the surrounding buildings at Blasieholmen.
For the 30th year in a row, the influential travel and lifestyle magazine Condé Nast Traveler asked its readers to rank the best hotels in the world. Among the 130 hotels in 40 countries to win a place on the list, the Grand Hôtel was the only hotel in Sweden to make the cut.
As the new official arena for Fashion Week Stockholm, the Grand Hôtel is pleased to welcome Sweden’s leading fashion brands between August 30 and September 1. Numerous participating designers will be showing their upcoming spring/summer collection over a three-day period. Grand Hôtel is complementing its fleet of luxury cars, which to date comprises Mercedes-Benz S-class, with a Bentley Flying Spur. The car is the next generation of the Bentley Continental Flying Spur model, which was presented in Geneva in 2005, since then becoming Bentley’s hallmark of pride in the luxury limousine section.
The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm is stepping into 2015 in style, with a refurbishment of its lobby to further enhance the welcoming ambience of this iconic hotel. The lobby area at the Grand Hôtel has been closed for renovation since January 6 2015. Now, a new, lighter version is being unveiled.
Grand Hôtel in Stockholm continues to invest in the future with the recruitment of two new employees to the sales department.
The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm will begin 2015 by further developing what is the heart and perhaps the most important part of the hotel – the lobby. Here, the approximate one million guests who pass through the lobby each year form their first impression of the hotel. A key change is a new white marble floor with carpet inlays instead of today’s wall-to-wall carpeting.
Today it became official that Grand Group AB is to acquire the remaining assets of Lydmar Hotel AB. The hotel will continue to operate under its own brand name, Lydmar Hotel.
As of July 1st 2013, Grand Hôtel will be the majority owner of Lydmar Hotel AB. The goal is to create a stronger product together with the current owners in order to help make Blasieholmen in Stockholm an attractive meeting point.
