As the new official arena for Fashion Week Stockholm, the Grand Hôtel is pleased to welcome Sweden’s leading fashion brands between August 30 and September 1. Numerous participating designers will be showing their upcoming spring/summer collection over a three-day period. Stockholmers and visitors to the city are invited to open fashion week events to catch the latest on the Swedish fashion scene.

Grand Hôtel is proud to present its new Executive Chef, Gabriel Ask. With him, Gabriel brings top-notch experience from some of most exclusive restaurants and hotels in the U.S. With a career that began at the iconic French Laundry in Napa, he joins the Grand Hôtel from Faena Hotel in Miami.
February 13 will mark the opening of Rutabaga – a brand new restaurant by Mathias Dahlgren. At Rutabaga, Dahlgren will build his vision of future cuisine featuring world class lacto-ovo-vegetarian dishes. Guests can expect a warm and welcoming restaurant experience in a relaxed and vibrant, high-tempo environment.
Mathias Dahlgren’s restaurants Matsalen and Matbordet at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm will be serving their last meals on December 22, 2016. Thereafter, the premises will be undergoing an extensive renovation, making way for a completely new restaurant endeavour.
Fredrik Lindfors took over as the new head sommelier at the Grand Hotel on January 1, 2016. Yesterday, he was named the best sommelier in Sweden at the Swedish National Sommelier Championship held in the Winter Garden over the weekend.
The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm is carrying out an extensive renovation of all rooms and suites in the Burmanska Palace part of the hotel this year. Located on the top floor, is the Princess Lilian suite – Grand Hôtel’s premier suite, an expansive 330 square metres in size. Inaugurated in 2006, the Princess Lilian Suite now has a completely new interior following the renovation.
The Grand Hôtel is delighted to present its very own scented candle, elegantly handcrafted with an exquisite fragrance.
The Grand Hôtel is now introducing luxury Italian bathroom products from the Acqua di Parma lifestyle brand in all bathrooms throughout the hotel. The products include bath and body products – providing an added dimension to the total hotel experience.
The Grand Hôtel has recruited Edvin Chramer as new head chef of the Veranda restaurant. Edvin joins the Veranda from Mathias Dahlgren’s Matsalen. His previous experience also includes chef at La Gazette in Paris and head chef at the Embassy of Sweden in Tokyo.
The Grand Hôtel continues to invest in the future with the recruitment of Magnus Karlberg as new CFO this autumn. Magnus joins the Grand Hôtel from Investor, where he was Investment Manager.
