Renowned Swedish Chef Mathias Dahlgren is inviting guests into the kitchen of his fine dining Matsalen restaurant at The Grand Hôtel, Stockholm, so they can see the creative process behind their Michelin-starred evening.
On September 2-6 “Street food by Diners Club” is coming to Stockholm. On a tour of the Nordic countries, this isn’t just any food truck circuit. Diner’s concept is to cooperate with the top chefs in the Nordic region to serve up their interpretation of street food. In Sweden, they are taking Mathias Dahlgren to the street to give Stockholmer’s a new, unique taste experience.

In its recently published guide, Grand Hôtel received a 3 out of 3 star ranking for its wine cellar.

Located centrally in the main lobby of the hotel, the boutique offers an exciting, contemporary array of clothing and accessories from leading international and domestic designers. For the second year in a row, the Grand Hôtel’s new café is opening its sidewalk seating on the quay outside the hotel. During Friday 21 March, the Grand Hôtel Nordic Spa & Fitness was awarded Day spa of the year by Sweden's SpaStar Awards, which annually is organized by SpaStar International. The title “Day spa of the year”, that Grand Hôtel Nordic Spa & fitness was honored with, is a new category in this year’s competition. In their assessment the jury studied the environment, treatments, and the overall concept.
Jeanette Lesslie, security manager at the Grand Hôtel, has received the Risk Management Scholarship, a much regarded scholarship in the security industry. Jeanette receives the scholarship in 2014 for her efforts in training and risk analysis at the Grand Hôtel in 2013.
The 2014 edition of Michelin Guide has been reveled today and for the sixth year running Mathias Dahlgren’s two restaurants at the Grand Hôtel, Stockholm, Matbaren and Matsalen, have retained their respective two and one stars. In the same announcement, the Michelin Guides' international director Michel Ellis announced that a standalone guide for the Nordic countries will be issued in 2015.
Executive Chef of The Grand Hotel, Stockholm, Mr Andreas Askling has been invited to participate in the Royal Sweden Gourmet Festival at the Hotel Okura in Tokyo, taking place on March 5 to March 11 2104. Mr Askling will be preparing the traditional Scandinavian cuisine and the authentic smorgasbord, famous at the Grand Hôtel Veranda Restaurant.

In early April, Mathias Dahlgren launches a new experience focused on the creation, together with the guests, of the meal of the future. The starting point is a communal dining table where the chef cooks for ten guests and they together, share an evening in which the food, conversation and exchange of experiences is central.
During spring and summer 2014, the Dining Room at Mathias Dahlgren will be undergoing a transformation, with a new restaurant experience emerging, slowly and organically, a bit like nature itself. Mathias himself is behind the changes, driven by the desire to further convey the vision of his concept The Natural Cuisine and offer guests a new sort of restaurant experience.
Grand Hôtel Stockholm is pleased to announce the appointment of Pia Djupmark as the hotel’s new CEO. Bringing with her extensive experience in the hotel industry, Djupmark joins the Grand Hôtel from a comparable post at Radisson Blu Royal Viking, where she had been employed in various positions since 1996.
On August 26 Stockholm is welcoming back one of its most loved dining destinations with the reopening of the iconic waterfront Veranda Restaurant, following an extensive renovation period that started at the beginning of the year.
As of July 1st 2013, Grand Hôtel will be the majority owner of Lydmar Hotel AB. The goal is to create a stronger product together with the current owners in order to help make Blasieholmen in Stockholm an attractive meeting point.
Strömkajen, the quay in front of the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm, underwent an extensive renovation during the winter and spring, and one new addition is the hotel’s newly opened café. Passersby can enjoy a cup of coffee or take away a summery salad, with the beautiful view of the Royal Palace as an added bonus.
The Grand Hôtel this month unveils its newly designed Terrace. Seating up to 100 guests, the new space in front of the hotel provides a unique outdoor dining and cocktail venue in the heart of Stockholm.
