Haaga-Helia in Estonia Supported Receptionist of the Year 2015 Competition

On the 7th of October „The Receptionist of the Year 2015“ competition was held in Tallinn at Tallinnhotels Hotel Palace. 13 hotels from Tallinn were represented by their best talents in order to reach the highest prize – becoming the best receptionist in Estonia this year.

The winner of the competition has an opportunity to represent Estonia on the international level – 

The Best Receptionist in Estonia 2015 trophy was awarded to Ms Jekaterina Matinkin from Park Inn by Radisson Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel Tallinn.David Campbell Trophy Receptionist of the Year Competition in Vienna, January 2016.

The Runner-Ups

The 1 st runner-up was Mr Sander Kaur from Tallinnhotels Hotel Palace and the 2nd runner-up Ms Triin Eljas from My City Hotel.Mr Raigo Triik – The Managing Director of the Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association – specified, that besides the professionalism expressed during the self-presentation Jekaterina was also showing care and truly hospitable attitude while performing in the fictional role-play situation.

The Judges

The winner of the competition, was provided with a membership of the Hospitality Insiders Club in 

Estonia by the Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia and the two runners-up received the gift certificates entitling them to participate in the short course “ Principles and Practices of Hospitality Revenue Management” on the 17th of November. In addition to that all the brave contestants participated in a random draw by Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia in order to be awarded one online course produced by American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI).

Haaga- Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia was involved in the content of the contest as well as the Project Coordinator Sven Lööndre participated in the role-play as a frustrated guest.

On behalf of Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia we wish good luck to Jekaterina in Vienna and hope to support the local contest in Estonia next year as well.
