Haaga-Helia Hospitality Know-How Conference kicks off its market presence in September

The launching of the Haaga-Helia Hospitality Centre activities on the Estonian market takes place on September 9th, 2015 with the Haaga-Helia Hospitality Know-How Conference held at EBS.
After the opening by President, CEO Teemu Kokko the taste bites are provided regarding the following themes addressed during the autumn at various events to be held in Tallinn: Financial Issues, Leadership & HR, Innovation & Service Design, Sales, Marketing & Revenue Management and Quality and Operations Management
The event is open for all interested stakeholders and parties with no charge for participation.

The Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association is a representative organisation of employers that is public, voluntary and operates on democratic principles. On the 7th of October „The Receptionist of the Year 2015“ competition was held in Tallinn at Tallinnhotels Hotel Palace. 13 hotels from Tallinn were represented by their best talents in order to reach the highest prize – becoming the best receptionist in Estonia this year.

Latvia's Association of Hotels and Restaurants is introduced to Haaga-Helia plans in Estonia

Ain Hinsberg presented the Haaga-Helia plans to enter the Estonian market to Mrs. Santa Graikste - the Managing Director of the Association of Hotels and Restaurants of Latvia (LVRA). The meeting took place in Riga on July 16. Ain Hinsberg provided an outline of Haaga-Helia and EBS and the planned key operations in Estonia.

Lean Management, a key to success

The Lean Management short course “Lean Management as quality and operations management tool in hospitality” by Jalmari Eklund on February 18th and March 3rd was executed with a great success meaning that the participants, who came to the first day being not aware to the full extent of what Lean is all about, started their second day with great enthusiasm.

Hospitality Insiders Club Estonia was succesfully launched

​The Hospitality Insiders Club Estonia was successfully launched on Wednesday 23rd September in the beautiful facilities of Palace Hotell, Tallinn. There were 23 professionals to prove the historical starting moment of a new kind of network of Estonian hospitality managers. The Hospitality Insiders Club's idea is to bring new ideas and tools to club members' daily work as well as share.

HHHCCE celebrated World Tourism Day with Seminar

HHHCCE celebrated the World Tourism Day on September 25th with a seminar “Impact is Imminent” held at EBS. The event was co-arranged with Estonian Travel and Tourism Association and Association of Estonian Tourism Education. About 60 participants representing mostly the public and educational sectors related to hospitality and tourism in Estonia.

Short courses in Hospitality: Haaga-Helia's top experts share their knowledge in Estonia

On October 6th Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia opened the delivery of their own short courses, with the first of a 2-day short course in Hospitality Industry Managerial Accounting. It was delivered by the coach Timo Saranpää (M.Sc.(econ.), and assisted by Elisa Aunola and Sven Lööndre. The second day of the course will take place on October 28th.

​The second Hospitality Insiders Club Estonia held on November 25th at Restaurant NEH in Tallinn focused on innovation and trends in hospitality industry. The keynote presentation on how trends influence the tourism and hospitality industry was delivered by the expert Dr Pasi Tuominen (Haaga-Helia UAS).

Short Courses in Estonia are Mission Accomplished!

Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Centre in Estonia delivered successfully 6 short business courses during the pilot study year 2015/16. The events – mostly 2-days per course - were held at the EBS main building and the average number of participants per course was around 15. All in all, over 25 participants were present during the exciting opening year.
