Motosumo Community Removes 1,538 Pounds of Trash From World Oceans With #TrainForSeas Campaign

In the second week of June, Motosumo, the innovative digital indoor cycling platform, successfully conducted its most recent Cycle For Change initiative with the #TrainForSeas campaign.

From June 8 to June 14, each calorie burned by the Motosumo community was converted into efforts to remove trash from world oceans. Motosumo pledged to remove one pound of trash for every 3,500 calories burned collectively, driving significant change in this initiative.

The results surpassed all expectations: Motosumo members logged 10,782 hours of workout time, equating to 5,383,590 calories. This translated into 1,538 pounds of trash to be removed from the ocean via #TeamSeas, a global campaign dedicated to removing 30 million pounds of plastic and trash from our oceans. The initiative works in partnership with Ocean Conservancy and The Ocean Cleanup, and combats ocean pollution and protects marine ecosystems, addressing a critical environmental challenge.

Motosumo Co-founder and CEO, Kresten Juel Jensen, is impressed by the member dedication to supporting this cause, "We’re thankful for the strong commitment from our members to this initiative. Protecting the environment and fighting ocean pollution is a cause close to all our hearts. It's truly inspiring to see folks turning their workouts into a force for good. Through the power of cycling, members can try to put a positive mark on our planet.”

With the success of the #TrainForSeas and the previous #TrainForTrees initiative, Motosumo looks forward to organizing more impactful campaigns.

"This initiative once again demonstrated how our community can come together for the greater good," says Jensen. "We’re already looking into what our next Cycle for Change campaign should support. First, we planted trees. This time we helped clean the oceans, next time we'll focus on another important cause that is meaningful to us and our community. We always strive to rally our members around a cause and invite everyone to participate, whether they're at home, in their gym, or elsewhere.”

Motosumo is committed to involving its community in selecting the next purpose-driven theme for the upcoming Cycle For Change initiative, scheduled for later this year. We hope all our members, existing and new, will join us on another grand adventure and cycle for change with us!
