Seafood from Norway, in collaboration with Chef Publishing, staged a seafood takeover at this year’s Chef HQ at HRC. The event invited celebrated chefs, industry experts, and stakeholders to showcase and enjoy the versatility and premium quality of seafood from Norway.
From collaborating with esteemed culinary figures like Michel Roux and Simon Hulstone to supporting some of the UK’s most promising rising talent, 2024 has been a year of meaningful milestones for Seafood from Norway's work within the hospitality sector.
Seafood from Norway (SfN), represented by the Norwegian Seafood Council, hosted an exclusive seafood masterclass at Sauce, The Langham’s cookery school in London. Led by renowned Chef Michel Roux, the event highlighted the versatility and quality of Norwegian seafood. Attendees enjoyed hands-on cooking and a roundtable discussion, promoting sustainable seafood practices.
Jonny Smith Wins Young National Chef of the Year 2024 Jonny Smith, Sous Chef at Gravetye Manor, has been awarded Young National Chef of the Year 2024 by the Craft Guild of Chefs. His winning menu featured goats' cheese agnolotti, Norwegian halibut, and a choux bun dessert. Jonny is now looking forward to an educational trip to Norway, sponsored by Seafood from Norway.

The Norwegian Embassy and Seafood from Norway held a roundtable and industry lunch at Sauce by The Langham on February 1st, 2023, in celebration of the close seafood relationship Norway holds with the UK. Attended by top chefs, industry insiders, and press, the discussions centred around quality, sustainable seafood, and introduced Norwegian white fish available to the UK market.
