The month of May is spring vegetable time in Sweden. To mark the occasion, we have created a special menu of spring primeurs at the Cadier Bar in collaboration with growers and purveyors from the island of Gotland.
Grand Hôtel Stockholm is pleased to announce the appointment of Pia Djupmark as the hotel’s new CEO. Bringing with her extensive experience in the hotel industry, Djupmark joins the Grand Hôtel from a comparable post at Radisson Blu Royal Viking, where she had been employed in various positions since 1996.
On August 26 Stockholm is welcoming back one of its most loved dining destinations with the reopening of the iconic waterfront Veranda Restaurant, following an extensive renovation period that started at the beginning of the year.
As of July 1st 2013, Grand Hôtel will be the majority owner of Lydmar Hotel AB. The goal is to create a stronger product together with the current owners in order to help make Blasieholmen in Stockholm an attractive meeting point.
Strömkajen, the quay in front of the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm, underwent an extensive renovation during the winter and spring, and one new addition is the hotel’s newly opened café. Passersby can enjoy a cup of coffee or take away a summery salad, with the beautiful view of the Royal Palace as an added bonus.
The Grand Hôtel this month unveils its newly designed Terrace. Seating up to 100 guests, the new space in front of the hotel provides a unique outdoor dining and cocktail venue in the heart of Stockholm.
The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm continues its ongoing renewal and enhancement work with the goal of positioning itself as one of Europe’s leading five-star hotels. Following extensive renovation, 19 elegant new rooms and suites on the third floor are now ready for their first guests. An additional ten rooms on the floor will be inaugurated in May.
The Grand Hôtel’s venerable wine cellar contains one of the Nordic region’s largest collections of quality wines, with over 20,000 bottles including Mouton-Rothschild from 1874 and Pol Roger 1914 vintage. Wine aficionados will now have the opportunity to come and taste part of this wine collection, as the Grand Hôtel is now opening a new wine club in collaboration with head sommelier Lasse Solum.
The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm is pleased to announce the opening of 37 new rooms, including six newly constructed and remodeled suites, meeting the demands of international travelers from all over the world. All the new rooms are located on the beautiful first and second floors of the original hotel building. The aim of this endeavor is to strengthen the Grand Hôtel’s position as a leading hotel.
