The trip marked over a decade of this collaborative initiative, which celebrates the enduring bond between Norway’s fishing industry and the UK’s beloved fish and chip sector.
Friday 6 June 2025 marks a major milestone for one of the UK’s most beloved food celebrations – National Fish & Chip Day (NF&CD) – and Seafood from Norway is proud to once again lend its support to the event, which brings the nation together to honour the tradition, people and ingredients behind fish and chips.
As part of its long-standing relationship with the UK Fish and Chip sector, Seafood from Norway, represented by the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) in partnership with the Norwegian Frozen at Sea group, is proud to once again invite the winners of the National Fish and Chip Awards on an exclusive educational trip to Norway.
The Norwegian Seafood Council, proudly representing Seafood from Norway, along with Norwegian Frozen at Sea, welcomed the UK’s leading fish and chip shops and a number of key industry stakeholders to Ålesund, Norway as part of an educational study trip to showcase responsibly sourced cod and haddock – the two most popular species used by British fish and chip shops.
Seafood has been a part of my upbringing and my diet growing up. Norwegian seafood, the world’s best, still has a natural place in my life. The Norwegian Seafood Council does a tremendous job showcasing knowledge and inspiration about tasty, healthy, and sustainable seafood globally and back home in Norway. There, they will experience firsthand how delicious Norwegian cod and haddock is responsibly harvested from Norway’s cold, clear waters.

The Norwegian Seafood Council marked Norway Day in the UK by partnering with acclaimed Fish & Chip vendors for a mouth-watering celebration. The main event took place at Southwark Park, London, hosting one of the largest Norway Day celebrations outside Norway.
